After a good nights sleep, I came to the conclusion that the iPhone 4S might not be my first choice. It IS indeed a very good phone and a big improvement over my 3GS, my also expensive. I am curently thinking about getting the next gen iPod Touch for gaming purposes and for phoning and everything else I can get a Samsung Galaxy S2 or even the upcoming Nexus Prime. I bet that Samsung will try to release a 4S killer as soon as they can. And heck, iPhone sales in the US are currently dropping like crazy, the sale numbers for Samsung Andoid phones doubled (according to "The News"). Advantage: I have both platforms available and both devices are costing less than an iPhone 4S 32 GB (including German contracts and stuff). I bet that the Galaxy S2 will even drop in price in the next 4 weeks... Your opinions?
thats me to a T.. nexus prime will be my next phone.. upgrade from my nexus. im slow to upgrade i know.. but i have money in the bank because of such.. instead of just buy buy buy.. good luck on whatever you get.. im sure you will be just fine. besides as fast as technology is changing.. your phone from just a year ago is outdated.. so no point trying to keep up.. its a losing battle even if you have billions to spend.. it just changes like every 4-6 months it seems. and what i mean by this is i do not really want to change my data, setup a new phone every couple of months.. once the data is there im lazy.. i like to just use the damn thing.. chris.

64GB iPhone 4S black ordered and paid for! Ships in 2 to 3 weeks but I wasn't expecting to get into the first shipment. I've got $40 left in credit on my iTunes account, time to go crazy!
I just noticed something weird. The white version has 2 speakers at the top but the balck version only has 1....
I've got an SGP. Got it off woot a few weeks back. Nice device. The larger screen is a real boon for ebooks, browsing, movies and games. Battery life is decent to. Way better than my iPhone 4. iOS has it all over android on apps though.
I am completely different, I think the best thing is to have as much as possible in one device. I had an android device for a short time and didnt find any advantage in having both platforms. I went from 3G to 4 and thought the jump was incedible. I miss absolutely nothing.
Yeah the iOS App Store is one thing I know the SGP won't be able to compare to. Nice to hear some positive things though. Am also interested in running some emulators without having to jailbreak.
I have pre ordered and will get mine on friday cant wait!! I am on o2 with 3months left but wasnt allow to upgrade!!! Damn you o2! So have opened up another contract with Orange white 16gb will be mine come Fri- currently on 3GS so will be a nice upgrade
Yes. I just saw a video for the Sony Walkman Z, I would so get that instead if it was out, but it's not. I'll settle for a SGP for now, iPod Touch 5th gen, whenever it comes out and a Vita for my "hardcore" gaming needs.
Here in germany we have 2 year contracts for mobile phones so it makes sense to make a huge upgrade only every 2 years, is it different in the rest of the world? I went from 3G to 4 and it was all upgrade I hoped for. And even if my contract was only 12 month I probably won't get one every generation. 4S to me always seemed a great idea, feeling no need to upgrade from my 4 but would feel like a hell of an upgrade from 3GS.
It's also 2 year contracts in the US, although typically they really let you upgrade sooner. I think AT&T is something like 18 months. I'm due for an upgrade in December. In fact I upgrade from a 3GS to a 4 in probably only a years time, but that was because AT&T was worried about losing customers to Verizon when Verizon got the iPhone, so they wanted to lock people in early. I may upgrade to the 4s in December. I'm still thinking about it. I think, for me, there are enough significant improvements.
