I thought I would be buying a new iPod Touch no matter what, but if the rumors are true about the minor update(if any) to the iPod Touch, then I'll be skipping it altogether. Which is probably for the best since I'm not into iOS games as much as I used to be. Maybe I'll import a Vita. I have an itch for a new gadget......
Same here. Most likely will go for the Vita rather than a fifth generation unless some nice new features show up.
I'm hoping the ability to send texts over wifi between iOS devices will mean they're more reliable. The cell connection in my apartment randomly drops out when I'm trying to send a text and sometimes I'll receive a bunch of them all at once hours after they're sent. Apparently the same thing happens when I try to text someone else occasionally, it's really annoying.
Until you've actually used one (and not just played with a display version) you'll never understand just how much better they run. The thing that people need to keep in mind, is Android users by and large don't play a lot of games, Android was never designed to be a mobile gaming device-Android users use more apps-be it messengers, widgets, facebook apps, twitter apps, etc. Those dual cores help with gps, rendering video, etc. root an Android, which is absurdly easy 90% of the time, and there's really no limits. Simply because YOU don't see the need for it, doesn't mean other informed users don't.
What I find funny is how that android phone with numerous GB's of RAM uses that the majority of that RAM to run the OS. iOS doesn't consume that much RAM and is a better OS because of it. ^ My opinion, I'm a fan of iOS over android. I will use an analogy to explain, If you have a car with 500HP, and the car weighs 2 Tons Its about as power full as a car that has 100HP and weighs 250 pounds. <-- The following car attributes are used for comparison sakes only, I know of not one car that has those specs.
Get out of here. Flash is a terrible multimedia platform. Very resource consuming and just plain heavy and un-optimized. HTML 5 on the other hand is not. Use Skyfire browser if you wanna view flash content.
Well, if they come out with a new iphone, I hope it is available very soon. I want/need to buy one, and I'd rather get the latest version of course - rather than buy one that is partly outdated already. I almost bought one last week - but my ID was outdated so I could not get it. I have updated the ID and am waiting for it to come in sometime in the next couple of weeks - but I certainly don't want to wait for a couple more months to get a phone.
A lot of videos (and some gaming and other interactive sites) online use flash - so if Apple ever adds it, it would certainly be useful.
I'll probably have to wait for the iPhone 6 (due to contract), so I just hope to hear that iOS 5 will be released soon, or even tomorrow if we are lucky.
A phone I'd like to see... 1.5ghz dual core processor, 1gb ram, hdmi port, 8mp camera with 1080p video recording, retina/super amoled plus display, and a 4.5" display with 720p resolution.
iOS, true, does not consume much RAM however, Android is 10x better at managing it than iOS ever will be. Task killers and stuff like that isn't required. Android takes care of background applications and RAM hogging apps so there's no need to worry about it.
Yup! And I am seriously hoping that they announce the 5th gen iPod touch, too! *crosses fingers* Who's with me?
I'd wanted to make a funny captioned gif about the iPhone 5 event using the last scene here from The Wire: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel But I can't make gifs. So instead: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=31512140&postcount=2010
