Bought this yesterday, started it and I'm 3 hours deep already, about 30min in bought the $5 gem pack to get the exp share but why is the rare stone SO expensive. I have 360 gems right now, will I make enough to get it without spending anymore real cash?

There are 10-40 gems in a couple of spots, just don't miss any sparkling area :) Also you will be given 300 gems before the final boss fight, so I estimate you possibly will have 700+ gems when you are about to finish the main story. Don't remember how much the rare stone cost though, but I think it's possibly enough.

I've purchased the game 2 days ago and also bought gems for the exp share. It think spending about 8-10 bucks for this game is fair. I enjoy the production value of this game a lot.

I am a part time game dev as well, and I'm glad these devs haven't chosen the Free To Play model. I just hope they survive for their next game.

I will defenitely tell my friends and co-workers to purchase it. :)

    Keep up the great work!

Yes, the game has some IAP geared towards "whales" (rich kids/gambling addicts), mainly golden nexoboxes - it's no different than all the other gacha games like Fire Emblem etc. This model has simply proven itself to make developers the most money, and unless your game is really amazing (which Nexomon isn't), it's your best bet to do well in this business.

The developer plays nice on this forum but if you look at the game itself, it's in fact setup like every other gacha game, except it's not even free but a paid app + IAP (For the price of the base game + QOL IAPS you could buy Final Fantasy Tactics for ios or like 3 really good games that have no IAP)

It's still a decent game at heart, I just wish they had made it a premium game with no IAP priced at 10 bucks instead.

I beg to differ. Aside from the legendary monsters and cosmetics, there is nothing you cannot access without IAP. Dev said they will make legendary available for free with some future event, so you literally can play the game with 0% IAP.

About the gacha: It's a monster catching game, so what would you expect? There is no monsters (except legendaries) locked behind golden boxes. Even if it is a full premium game, there will still be monsters that appear less frequently and require more tries to catch. It's the nature of this type of game. Do you really want all monsters to line up in front of you and you just click on them one-by-one? Play a tapping game then.

If the game is priced at $10, I would imagine a lot less purchases. With the current pricing setup, you can play the game's full content for $3. Or if you want the game to be a bit easier or support the dev, play additional $5-10. Sure there will be people paying a lot for the golden traps or boxes, but its their money to throw away and dev can use the additional cash to further improve the game. I call this a win-win pay model :)

Please for the love of god stop. Please stop writing novels about the IAP and if it is or isn't the worst thing ever invented. Some people are fine with it, some people aren't. There, now there's nothing more to be said on the matter.

Have you played the game with and without the rare charm & exp share? It's a terrible grind without and you don't get to see many many of the more rare mons at all in a normal playthrough, whereas with these extras (which I bought early on because I'm too old for grinding) you never have to grind for levels and you get to see all the awesome rare mons in the wild without hunting for them specifically.

I wouldn't expect the IAP on a non-free Gacha game to be so bloody expensive, the gem amounts and prices for the rare charm etc. are set up exactly in a way where you have to buy more diamonds than you need, it's a tried and true model to maximize profit, so I can't blame the dev.

Fanboys calling everyone posting constructive criticism trolls makes for toxic ego-chamber communities. Make no mistake, it's already making a good amount of money on the app store and has lots of room to grow both in quality and wallet gains for the devs still, both of which I support as long as the gameplay experience for non-IAP players stays a priority, as the app isn't free.

Just ignore posts you dislike, yours for example contributes nothing to the discussion at all other than wannabe policing.

I wish I could ignore the posts I don't like but unfortunately I have a website to maintain and I'm getting sick of answering all the reported posts from this thread.

My point was simply: discuss the IAP as it relates to the game all you want, but the arguing back and forth about if it's fair or if it's not or if it's needed or if it's not is never going to go anywhere. People trying to have the "right" answer about it is fruitless and leads to a never ending discussion that distracts from those wanting to talk about the game itself.

It's pretty simple. Please respect the rules of the website if you wish to continue posting here, thanks.

I would like to know this too. Would also like to know what the best attacks are for each element.

I love this game, just got my starter again in the wild. Velokitti! Mines evolved once, so I might just keep this one in original form, or save for trading for other starters or legendaries if the feature is added. I have played every pokemon game and this is something special compared to those. The graphics for one are just astounding compared to pokemon in my opinion. The animated battles seem to have more going on than even the newer mon games.

Hm, I must say I am a bit irritated. Not trying to say any view on the iaps is the right one, but I think people would like to hear from users that played this game how they felt about these iaps. And there are some pretty strong comments on here that differ from my experience, which is about 18h playtime now (without the monster charm but with xp share)...

Is IAP discussion off topic some how? If so, I don't understand why it would be. I enjoy talking about it.

I do feel the devs were/are being fair with the IAP's in this game, though.. No complaints on my end..

Edited : I see where Jared responded..It's good to know that IAP discussion is not off topic..

Then talk about it! It's why I explicitly said "discuss the IAP as it relates to the game all you want." What I don't need is the two dozen plus posts that I had to delete because one person is telling another person they are wrong and stupid because of how they feel about the IAP. Also, a "the IAP is fine" person trying to convince a "the IAP is terrible" person to accept their point of view is never going to go anywhere. IAP is like politics and religion, it's hard if not impossible to convince others of your view, and I'd rather not have thousands and thousands of words cluttering up this thread trying to do just that.

At this point we'll have just as many "here's how to post an acceptable post" posts than we do unacceptable posts themselves, so I guess in the future rather than asking people to respect the rules of the site I'll just silently delete this sort of stuff and people can just be confused on where their posts went. Not sure why I ever bother trying in the first place. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This isn't your normal gacha. Most gachas require hundreds of hours and dollars in order to achieve cards / heros. This game allows all monsters to be caught except for a single legendary per element.

This type of game costs big money. I don't think you quite understand. It's 10$ for the iap which makes the game just slightly less grind heavy. Do you remember the original Pokémon games? Now that was a grind fest.

As you can see, the devs mean well and have put their blood, sweat, and tears into the game. Three whole years.

You have the audacity to want this beautiful full scale production for 3 DOLLARS and only three? That's a damn slushi.

So there's 10$ worth of perma iap that improves the game. At least it's not "pay x amount and have a chance at rolling for coins OR xp share" lmao.

Want to spend a few hundo to support the devs and get the legends? Go ahead.

But hell, for 3-15$ you get an amazing full scale game as well as 300 monsters.

The megas? They are pseudo legends. Extremely strong and extremely beautiful. Guess what? Free. Easily farmed, easily caught.

Those other THREE HUNDRED mon? Easily caught easily farmed.

    *sigh

    This game deserves praise.

The day has passed where people will drop 40-60$ for an iOS game. If people weren't so cheap on the platform, this would have sold, legends included for 30-60$. But that's not the iOS platform these days.

1% will spend more than 3$ on the game. So they've added a few exclusive legends to make some extra money.

Big whoop. The game is beautiful, and top quality. Enjoy value? HIGH. All without those few legends.

First and last post in regard of IAP: you pay 20 bucks for a quality game. Thats fair! Development is work, nobody puts heartblood in a game for free. The price asked is not to high by any means! Its sad if great people like the developers of Nexomon (or dcfedor of the utterly flawless Neo Scavenger Mobile Port, seriously go buy that too if you have a heart for fullfledged games!!!) have to make price cuts when they bring games to mobile. Just remember what you would buy on other platforms. Really sorry, had to get that out and will remain siment on that topic from now on # Ps: serioulsy, go buy neo scavenger for your iDevices, too! Support great devs!

Don't be a zealot. The iOS marketplace is full of premium games between 3 and 5 usd that have received more praise and better reviews not only on TA but all across the internet. It's a beautiful game graphically, but a simplistic knockoff of pokemons systems otherwise, and copying a concept so closely saves a lot of time in development as opposed to coming up with your own (if you want to read about a game that put no time in graphics and received the highest of praise possible for its gameplay [dev was hired by blizzard for hearthstone based on the game], look up Dream Quest).

Since I'm tired of the fanboy outrage, let's talk about the game itself again: What are the 2 missing mon in the database among the legendaries, will those be added in some post-game content? Since the update made catching mons super easy, I'm close to having the database completed except for all the legendaries.
