Hm, now this has become some sort of depressed thread to bash Apple/ngmoco. At least it wasn't rejected! Maybe it will come out today.

I agree! Ngmoco shouldn't have announced that its coming out on july 1 if they are not 100% sure that it will, fans got there hopes up because of this and result is they let their fans down

 

two things:
1. If a different publisher, say EA, sets a release date for a product, and then the distributors mess up their part of the job, and don't get it out by the stated date, would you expect them to have come out and explained it that same day? I doubt that would happen, particularly as it's likely not even their mistake.
2. Perhaps instead of expecting them to contact you and explain why theyight ever so slightly miss the release date (if they even knew it would be so), maybe it would be prudent for a consumer so keen as yourself to attempt to contact them to enquire? But I doubt that happened.
Realistically, I'll bet Neil was still hoping apple would have it out on July 1, so he didn't want to get in too early with the explanation. When it became obvious it might miss, he had to act and did so. That's where we're at now

I would expect it from someone like EA just as much as anybody else! The uproar would be huge if a massive EA published title missed its release date.

Of the hundreds of people viewing this thread and waiting on the game today I am pretty certain that someone would have tried to contact ngmoco but I wouldn't expect them to reply. They got much bigger problems!

This is the most likely explanation yes. And it will be very interesting when we finally learn the cause of the delay!
