Found this vid of a new zombie fps (maybe) but the interesting part is the control scheme. It looks like this would work extremely well compared with what we have seen so far, kinda like two virtual analog sticks. Seems to be in pre beta, just kind of a floating camera test of the controls. The info is in like german or something weird, somebody decipher it.
Dont consider this a game, dont even think about it, because this is like pre alpha footage. I just wanted you to see the control scheme that this dev has invented, looks to work seamlessly, so other fps devs can implement them in their games
The controls look interesting. They may need some getting used to before anyone can see if they are really effective or not. Lol They do look cool, though
It wouldn't work, to put it simply. If you have both thumbs controlling movement, how are you supposed to fire while walking? I would much rather tilt to look, d-pad to walk forward/backward and strafe left/right, button on the other side to shoot. Simple.
I guess you are right, i totally forgot about the main part of fps, the shooting . Oh well, analog sticks would work great, if only there was a button on top for shooting........
You could always use your tongue, or "something else" if the firebutton was in the middle, but then you would look pretty silly. Especially on the bus or train on the way to work.
Yeah but then it'd be like you were licking the zombies! I am sure if it was a zombie licking game, that control method would work quite well- a bit disturbing mind.
Seems to me like the right analog yocould strafe l/r up to cycle weapons and down to shoot, and accelerometer to look up and down
Interesting. Reminds me of "Virtual On" except you can't have trigger buttons on the iPhone . This could work if someone can figure out a way to fire/attack.
I've been contemplating coding a game so I have thought alot about control schemes (who hasn't thout about coding) just a thought
