http://wii.ign.com/articles/118/1188346p1.html Interesting... looks like europe is getting all the love from nintendo and sony haha
While traditionally updated models of Nintendo systems have some sort of redesign this looks like it's simply a cost saving measure. The only noticeable difference is that the logo has been turned 90 degrees. I'm wondering if the lack of Gamecube support and the fact that the system can no longer be used vertically are connected. Maybe they've switched to a cheaper disc drive.
I guess they figure if you don't have a wii by now, you most likely won't want a gamecube either. Cut down parts, slap another game, and boom insta-sales. I wouldn't be surprised if this bundle will be uber cheap.
And many virtual console games? How to I play 5-player Columns III and Bomberman w/out the extra controller? I bet the lack of Gamecube support is more about losing the controller port / memory card hardware than anything else.
I would think most people that found GC support that appealing have a Wii by now, those that don't really care will just get this new one.
