Our next release SkylineBlade is nearly ready for upload to the App Store. We're putting the finishing touches on the graphics, story, and mission structure. This is a 3D helicopter Sim with a fantastic new control scheme that allows for some fairly complex gameplay, hardware buttons not required.

This title is aimed at gamers who really want a 3D Heli Sim that feels like a Helicopter but also offers some goals and action. If you were disappointed in X-Plane Helicopter's lack of things to do or Hellfire's lack of a flight model then SkylineBlade is for you.

The game will debut at $0.99 hopefully next week. The gameplay begins with training and leads into urban combat. All the missions include achievement medals to be won from Bronze to Gold. There are some secret goodies being thrown in as well ;)

    That's fairly aggressive pricing.

    1. Is there an alternate view besides the cockpit view? Perhaps "View" implies this?

    2. How many missions are in the game?

    3. Is this a first iteration release with several updates pending?

    4. Gameplay video?

    5. What exactly is that carmel matrix in the background?

That music isn't part of the game ;)

As for the other questions, the enemy types aren't finalized yet but tanks, other choppers, and jets are all prototyped. A lot will come down to the flow of the game. Whatever feels solid and balanced will remain.

As for the aggresive pricing, this game is the opening chapter of a larger universe based around Skyline and its advanced flight technology. In the future more vehicles, weapons, and full campaigns will be part of the series (if it's well recieved). That said this game does offer several hours of quality gameplay within the Skyline proving ground.

The game will recieve updates based on feedback.

once i saw that one rotor wasn't moving, and the other one was, i couldn't stop noticing that! Looks like it could be good, but will it always be dark in the game? maybe some good open daylight cities too? Looks promising because of the story line!

In that case you might want to call it "Chapter 1"

Updates based on user feedback is reasonable, as long as the game that is first introduced has tight gameplay and graphics. Otherwise, many users may offer constructive feedback, but still thrash the game wrt their ratings. In that scenario, with mediocre sales in tow, you are not likely to be inspired to advance the game further.

Have you considered beta testers to provide critical commentary on the game before you ultimately release it? This may help ensure that the game is as polished as possible wrt gameplay, controls, menus, etc. upon release.

Well it's not episodic so chapter 1 probably won't be appended. It is a small but fully contained game that leads into a bigger world. The focus is on fun, tight physics, solid graphics, challenge, and future intrigue.

Also, I just want to point out that the video was really early. Another will get posted once the game is done and up.

OK. Look forward to the new video.

Although nighttime action may make shadows less important, the chopper should at least have head lights in the night attack scenes.

I also think the Armor, ammo, fuel, etc bar below may be hard to read on the iphone. Why not have gauges instead?

Sure I said this before but the game reminds me of G-Police, that is a good thing!

Oh, BTW the game does have a spotlight ;) In those shots there was just a vertex spot light but the final build has a per pixel spotlight which looks pretty good.
