New release of Wopple: 3 $10 gift cards to iTunes or Amazon

Wopple is a new game that merges the game play of Wheel Of Fortune with the social elements of Words With Friends. Instead of costing $4.99 like Wheel Of Fortune, it is a free app.

We just released a new version that addresses many of the core complaints.

To celebrate, we're giving away 3 $10 gift cards to iTunes and Amazon. sfsebastian and sxbast were the two winners of our last contest. Contest ends 1/31.

To qualify:

2) Write an honest review on the App Store.

3) Post your review username on this thread.

4) This contest is only open to people who have not previously reviewed Wopple.

fun but a challenge
its a pretty interesting game I was not aware of the TV show so it kinda felt like Wheel Of Fortune with the buying of vowels and trying to solve each puzzle before the other player, I'll admit I sucked big time at first but I eventually got the hang of it

great game that really tests you with all the different categories and I also like that the computer is not super smart so you actually have a shot at winning, you really feel dumb after you realize the you couldn't even guess Lady ga ga from the available letters, I'm loving it so far and I seem to have some friends that suck at these kinds of games even more than me so I look pretty smart . Best of all it won't cost you and arm and a leg since its truly free no gimmicks

When Words With Friends meets Wheel Of Fortune, awesome word game with very unique way to play. Basically this is a word guessing game in which you will compete with the computer or your friends. There are lots of words packs for you to play with in majority of categories, celebrities, movie quotes, foods or just combination of them. A very addictive game for no charge. Highly recommended for all word puzzle funs.

This app is promising and definitely can use some improvement over its current features. Currently, I can only play versus the computer. It will be nice to have a chatroom feature so I can invite people whom I click with to join a game. The current join game feature requires a passcode which I feel is quite useless as it does not ask me which room I can join before prompting me for the passcode.

The only ways to take part in the game is to guess a vowel or spin to get more points for words or to solve it. I have watched such games on TV before. There were a lot more options available like you can phone a friend to ask for hints or suggest words which are not a vowel or even ask the audience for word hints. The phone the friend or ask the audience for word hints can be made superficial in this game to make it more interesting! I hope the developer can take more comments positively and improve on the app.

Hi Wizman, sorry for the confusion.

You can play friends now. Just click the gray icon from within a game. Then you'll see an option to play friends.

The next release makes it clearer how you can play friends and even invite them via Twitter.

I revised my review and updated it as below:

I just saw a add friend (grey icon) on the top menu. The developer told me they will revise this feature to make it more user-friendly in the next updates so I guess I have to wait till then.

Amazing game!
This is one of my favourite words game! I really like it! Very simple to play! You can play with computer or with your friends! There are so many different categories like geography, song lyrics, food, drink and etc. Very entertaining and funny game! Absolutely must have game!

This is a nice and simple alternative to the Wheel of Fortune App. I enjoyed the relaxing music and the nice-looking backgrounds. Gameplay is just right, not too hard or too easy.

That being said, there are a few features that could use major improvement within this app. The biggest drawback for me is that this app cannot work without internet connection; since I play most of my games when commuting, I can't play this at all unless at home.

Another problem that I would have was with the spin for points part. Occasionally, I would be briefly taken to the spin screen but then right back to the phrase screen. When tapping to spin again, the game would say that I chose an incorrect letter, even though there were none for me to choose. I would recommend to the developers that they either make only one spin column or explain how the system works better. I was very confused by how how the value of each letter was calculated.

One final critique is with the in-app purchases. With a cost of $.99 - $1.99 per pack of 100 phrases, they are on the more expensive side.

Overall, this free app is a decent replacement for Wheel of Fortune. This app can easily earn a 5 star review from me by modifying it to work without internet and by changing the scoring system.
