Yeah guys, release date is March. Based on the feedback from the moment we have revealed the project, it has influenced the project in such a good way. We are changing and improving so much to make this game better and worth the wait ;-) I posted this on the Calis Projects forum just now. I'll post a bigger teaser tomorrow - and more of an explanation of what is going on with the battle system (it's 3 am local time, and I've been coding all day, I wanna sleep). @MystikSun: I am that Neo-Dragon. I was a mod of the game development section of pokecommunity for about a year and made several fan games since 2004 ;-) Here is an updated version of the teaser! THIS IS NOT THE BIG REVEAL OF THE BATTLE SYSTEM - JUST A TEASER! Check out the new UI, the new battleground and even a new mechanic. 2 versus 1 handicap battle. 2 versus 2 battle. Let me explain Everything in the 2 screenshots above is different and part of the big revamp the battle system is getting. New Battle ground, new UI (User Interface) and multi-ZENFORM battles. In the first shot, you can see 2 player ZENFORMS against one enemy. This will be explained more when I reveal the battle system with a new video but what I can tell you now is - this can happen mid way through ANY battle. All you need to do is spend Skill Points (the same points you use to grow and evolve your ZENFORM). When you play the game you will notice using and spending skill points is a skill and stradegy in itself. Do you spend those points to evolve a ZENFORM? Increase it's stats or spend them in battle? The stronger the ZENFORM (higher star rank and evolution stage) - the higher the cost to bring it into battle for multi-battles. That cost only applies if the battle was originally 1 -v- 1. If the battle is a multi-battle from the start, no cost to skill points is needed to bring in ZENFORMS. Switching normally in 1-v-1 battles doesn't cost anything of course. The battle ground is a fake 3D battle ground. Simply touching the screen and swiping left or right allows you to move the camera (this it not really 3D but a trick using the images). All of the UI hides and lets you get a great look at the battle ground. The top part of the user interface is the battle bar. This has the battle menu - that when pressed slides down the battle bar and shade (like the notifcations on iOS) and reveals the rest of the menu. It has a flee button that you can press to bail from the battle. It also has the crystals that your team ZENFORMS are in. You can touch one of the crystals for quick switching a ZENFORM onto the field. You can touch a ZENFORM and it will slide open the status bar to reveal more information. You can open 1 status bar, or all of them if you wish. Doing this also slides the battle bar off view so you can focus on the status bar. This was only a teaser. The battle system has some really cool ideas that I cannot wait to share with you. Do you have a trailer of the battle system yet? Love the 2v1 and 2v2 pics. But I think we all want to see the battle system in a video clip thanks.
well is spending and using skillpoints the same? do we gain much more skillpoints as we used in a battle? what if we dont have any skillpoints left and want to fight? where do we get those then?
@lightningLoui: I explained it in the post. The cost only applies to battles originally 1-v-1 (1 player and 1 enemy). You can still switch out that one as normal. To add the additional ZENFORM to the battle ground to make it a 2-v-1 - it will cost Skill Points - which you earn from battles and quests. - - - - - - - Check out the battle teaser video I posted on youtube. This shows the "3D" panning camera effect. Just touch the battle ground and slide your finger left or right to move the camera. Footage was taken from the iPhone simulator hence the mouse cursor. I will take a much longer video with commentary when I fully reveal the battle system (all this was part of a teaser).

The battle system is coming along smoothly. Currently it has about 13,000 lines of code. In saying that though, there is still a lot to do on it. I'm making sure the battle system is perfect because it can "make or break" the ZENFORMS: Protectors play experience. As soon as it's fully playable, I'll be making a video and posting it! how will the animations be in the game for the battle system? will we get actual animations like surf in pokemon for example or will it be just damage done?
I was wondering that myself. Really hope there's real animations, no battle animations was a huge turnoff in geosociety for me.
We will have attack animations using cool particle effects (like the effects you see in the How ZENFORMS Evolve video). It might be limited to start off with and some attacks will use the same animation or no animations, but we will work on this after version 1 release. I played GeoSociety and it's not in the same league as our game really. It's best not to compare us to something like that and just check out all the screenshots and media we post. its sad because geosociety had so much promise but not a developer in it for the long run which it seems you are. they seem to forget that the brand can get either tarnished or praised if you make a game and stick with it giving free updates you will get many more sales and your future games will but bought without a second thought. some people just buy the games to support the devs.
