Customize characters?! Monster RPG style?! you know minomonsters stands no chance for this upcoming appstore gem!
I would have bought this game regardless, but what the dev said about iap makes me that much more excited
We haven't shown much of the battle system yet guys! Very soon we will though. I have an update video for you to watch. It's an update on some of the progress made today and a shout out even to you guys. Apologies for my crappy mic. Oh and I'm Irish, so I hope you can understand my accent ;-P Link: http://youtu.be/JShAFkm2teE
The new d-pad looks a lot better, nice job I watched a bit of stream recording of you showing off the inventory, and I think that when you discard sidequest items, maybe you shouldn't completely "lose" the quest, but rather reset the quest's progress or something. I'd be absolutely livid if I accidentally lost an item and couldn't complete the quest.
@Neo-Dragon i think its awesome that you are actually listening to what people want and adding it into the game, a lot of developers dont do that. I think the only thing i would add would be streamlining the menu system as much as possible, but youve already said that you are going to. This is the most i have ever been looking forward to a game in recent memory. Great work!
Hey we (iPhone Alley) got a shoutout in that last video. Appreciate it Our followers are pretty damn excited about the game. Can't wait either, you can keep in touch on our Twitter.
Honestly, I think IAP would work for new monsters or something down the road. But that would be hard to integrate, I suppose, with the map and story updates. You can't have some users buying maps and story updates while coding one update for those with one set of IAPs, one with another, etc. In fact, not even sure that's possible. Maybe release maps and story updates for free, but if you ever develop, say, a set of 3 new monsters, have an IAP to add those monsters at their base evolution to your save file's stable/collection so the player doesn't have to catch them. It gives players who can't pay for IAPs the ability to catch them in the wild, but you'll also make cash on those too lazy or too impatient to want to find them. This game looks amazing. There have been quite a few Pokemon inspired titles, but none of them look this true to what they are cloning. I wish you all the success in the world with this game and I honestly can't wait to purchase it. EDIT - OK I've finished watching all of the videos, including that beautiful 4 minute game intro. You two are sitting on a pot of gold here, good luck guys! Anticipation is already getting to me!
Wow it's great to see an Irish developer doing a Pokemon style game, it looks great one question though, will you be doing all major towns in Dublin? If so is Malahide in there?
Just read through the entire thread and I cannot wait for this game. I just hope I wont be disappointed. I hope the replay value is huge or something along these lines where the game can consume over 80 hours of my time like Pokemon.
Wow, i was going through some of my old stuff and found Pokemon Red with my Gameboy Colour. The yellow one too! Man, nostalgia much!
That statement doesn't make any sense. Nintendo is never coming to iOS and never should. They have their own devices to support.
Wow just read thru this thread and i must say this game looks awesome! I'm excited definitely an instabuy! Setting back money just for this!
there is nothing wrong with clones on the iphone, without them few games would be on the appstore that were enjoyable. if the game doesn't come on appstore why should we miss out when someone could just make a similar game? not much way to make a pokemon clone that isn't nearly a complete ripoff but this does seem to be different with the branching out thing though i do hope it turns out good
I don´t know... maybe this one is not another crappy clone of pokemon, there are plenty now, they think is easy to make money being the shadow of someone else.
