    Mental Maths
    (introductory price: $0.99)

    Hi everyone!

Today, my new game "Mental Maths" arrived in the App Store. Solve math problems to reveal pieces of the image, make mistakes and see gray parts.

Among basic arithmetics there are exercises in percentage calculation, roman numerals and more. There are four difficulty levels, an adjustable time limit and statistics for multiple users.

If you like math games and would write a review, ask in this thread. I'll send promo codes to the first 10 people by PM.

    Have fun! :)

Well, judging by my math it looks like you've only got 5 replies so far, so I wouldn't mind having one too! I pretty much review everything I play at some point, so no need to worry about that :D

I'd like a code too if any left.

I try lots of maths games with the kids. Still looking for the ideal one!

If there are any left I will try it. Looks Interesting enough.

  10. I'm sure that your kids will like it. If you have suggestions for Mental Maths, let me know ... feedback from kids is invaluable! I'm looking forward to your review!

My daughter could complete solitaire on my PDA at 2!

We'll see how she does with this now she is 5. If I had a clue how to redeem the code (and she wasn't already asleep)!

My 14 month old son would just throw it across the room though...

  13. Go to the home screen of the App Store and click "Redeem" in the upper richt hand corner. Enter your code and sync your iDevice. Promotion Codes work olny in the US App Store.

    Hey there,

I sent you a PM first, I thought that's what you asked but then I re-read.
But pretty much the same thing, I'll review the app :)

The code didn't work for me as I'm in the UK. I'm sure Theo will give it to the next in line.

I bought the game anyway, and it's well worth the price if you like this kind of thing.

    I have reviewed it too....

    Some extra comments:

    - Using a dot for multiply and a colon for divide is a little confusing as that isn't normal in the UK.

    - I'd like to see it allow multiple profiles so the stats can track more than one person.

    - Kids can make easily make mistakes when entering numbers, it would be nice if they could type the answer and press a button to submit the score, giving the chance to make a correction, rather than it just taking what you type as the answer.

  16. Thanks a lot for the review and the comments! Changing the notation of the multiplication and division problems is a good idea. I have overlooked that the operators should be localized as well. I will add that in a small update soon.

I have no idea what is the most common notation in the US and in the UK (or any other country) for multiplication and division.

Instead of the dot-notation [IMG] I could use the notation 5x2.

Further, instead of writing 20:4=5 I could write [IMG] or 20/4=5.

What do you think? Any advice from readers of all countries is welcome, especially from those who have some math school book to hand. :D

About multiple profiles: That's already possible. You can create and select profiles in the settings. If you tap on 'statistics', you will always see the stats of the profile currently selected.

    Hey Theo, great game here.

Did you read my review in the app store?

My suggestion is just a submit button as well.

This is perfect for the UK.

Hadn't noticed the profile thing in my quick look, great!
