this game looks amazing, like a cross between a board game and a TCG. I say look at carcassone. It's a magnificent board game. As well as other TCG's. I brought up carcassone b/c they got so much stuff right like the push notifications, the single player, difficulty, interface, timing, chat etc.i honestly can't wait for this game, looks awesome

I've been playing catch up and I really like how this game is turning out. I can't wait for how battles are taken place. One question I have is how are stats determined, are they predetermined or are they based on a roll on such games. Btw I couldn't help but laugh that you chose the example of a dwarf as a mage.
When you create your character, you get 10 stat points that you can distribute as you wish between Strength, Intelligence and Dexterity. In addition, some races have inherent modifiers that affect these stats. Elves have -1 for Strength, but +1 for Intelligence, while Dwarves have +1 Strength and -1 Dexterity. Humans are in the middle and have no initial modifiers. When creating a character, you can choose: Sex: Male or Female Race: Dwarf, Elf, or Human Class: Wizard, Warrior, or Druid You may choose any combination of these, resulting in a total of 18 main character archetypes. Of course your choice of how to distribute your stat points plays a major role in how your character will play. The Male Dwarf Wizard just happened to be the first character portrait that our artist created.

And now, without further delay, here's a sneak peek at an Elven wizard... Sinister, secret, hidden and dark, The vile Elves live bleak and stark. Conquest, enslavement, torment, pain, Obey the Elves or be slain. Hope you enjoy! See you next week with the next installment of Duels of the Runemasters: Primers focusing on a character's equipment.
DotR Updates Hey All, We've just published a press release detailing changes to development of Duels of the Runemasters. The press release is below. For more info, please visit our website (http://www.realmsapart.com)... More details, our long-awaited dev blog, more art work, more Primers are all on the way... FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Atlanta, GA October 11, 2010 Realms Apart Studios is pleased to announce more changes to the Duels of the Runemasters Development Team. Ken Carpenter and Mind Juice Media have concluded their relationship with Realms Apart Studios regarding development of Duels of the Runemasters. In the wake of the departure, programmer James Anthony Kirk of Annapolis, MD has stepped into the lead developer role assuming responsibilities for developing the iPhone, Android, PC, Mac and Web versions of the Duels of the Runemasters game. When asked to comment on the departure of Mind Juice Media from the project, Mark Sanges, president of Realms Apart had nothing but praise for the departing partner. After working with Ken and Mind Juice for the past ten months it was time for them to take a new direction and focus on several other exciting projects. We wish nothing but the best for Ken and Mind Juice Media and were really looking forward to their next couple of game releases. Having worked so closely with them, were privy to the next two titles they will be releasing and I have to say, they both look and sound amazing! I cant wait! Filling the vacancy in the lead programming role is James Anthony Kirk, or Tony as he prefers. We brought Tony on board to help speed up the development process and get things on a faster development track. Under Tonys leadership well be making a change to a Unity-based game engine which should help us rapidly complete the first few prototypes as well as simplifying the process of creating versions of the game for multiple platforms. Mr. Sanges said of the newest member of the DotR team. When asked what drew him to the project and the daunting role of lead developer, Mr. Kirk said, Joining the team was really a no-brainer. I have a passion for RPG/CCG/board games and a passion for development. What better way to have the best of both worlds than to join such an ambitious project that combines all of these and adds so much more. I was following the project from the beginning and am excited to now have an active role in bringing it to market. I see great things ahead for DotR and am really excited to be part of this team. . BIG news coming in the next few days. For now let's just say some contracts were signed and Duels of the Runemasters now has a publisher with major success in digital CCG/TCG type games. We're VERY excited. Duels of the Runemasters has undergone a complete redesign from top to bottom, not only graphically, but game-play as well. It's now headed into development, with a full, funded team dedicated to building it and releasing it for iOS, Android, PC, Mac and the Web! We may have been silent for a LONG time now, but we've been working hard and things are finally heating up! More info soon.
A hint of things to come... Just to give you an idea of the kinds of changes we've made, have a look:
Just heading into development now? That sounds like holiday 2012 if we're lucky. The concepts look interesting, but I can't see how this is going to be playable on an iPhone with as much going on as you have. It looks like it will be cramped even on the iPad.
