Would like some help picking out a new camera for my mom. I cant really suggest a camera but from what I've read its not about how many megapixels, its the quality of the lens. For example the iPhone 3GS has 3.2 i think and can take better pictures than many other cameras due to a better lens. Thats all i can input
If it's for causal use then Cybershot's are great. Stuff like holidays, family photos etc... but if she's actually into photography then it's not so good... they're more about getting quick snaps than setting up anything professional. Just remember she might need a bigger memory stick, the ones that come with the camera are usually pretty small and if you're taking 12 megapixel photos it's gonna fill up super fast.
Yeah, CyberShot, or any of Sony's low-end models are pretty good. Around the $300-$400 range are the best ones.

LMAO..anyways, yea dude CyberShot's are great. I had the same one for all 3 of my cross-country trips, and it did a great job. Then it got stolen....lol.
