Tutorial and rules are in the app but you can also download the original rulebook from www.boardgamegeek.com.

This game is more of my kinda thing than Carcassone, but to each their own. I say NH though. The fact that this $ will increase later may factor into your decision a well.

5 very simple additions that would make a huge difference (besides online play :D).

    1. Option to see how many of each tile you have left in your deck.

    2. A gameplay mode where your deck will be shuffled when you run out of cards and you keep going until there is only one player left alive. Sometimes it would be nice to see it through, even after we're out of tiles.

    3. Fast mode option. Pressing the little triangle is kind of annoying. A simple toggle would be nice to disable animations and speed up the game.

    4. You choose your race but computer is randomized. Quick mode is nice, but sometimes I want to choose my race and still be surprised by the opponent.

    5. Undo! So many times I accidentally drop a tile pointing the wrong way and wish I could have a simple undo option.

    This game is so good.

    nice ideas!

    1. this makes the game much easier and since you don't have this option in the original boardgame i don't like this

    2.-4. good ideas!

    5. you can undo your moves by tapping the pause button. after you tap resume you come back at the start of your turn. this way you can even change the tiles to discard

Had a bit of rain today so was cruising the app store in a bored semi-trance when I saw this in the What's Hot section, and being the sucker for hexes that I am, immediately bought it.

And am I ever glad I did. Fantastic game. Absolutely fantastic. Lost the first few games horribly until I read up on the rules, and have won a few Quick games on easy now. Looking forward to the iPad version (though it's already very nice looking on it) and multiplayer, but I'm sure I'll get quite a bit of quality time as it is right now.

    Thanks Big Daddy's Creations. :)

You don't even need to do that. Tiles are only set when you finalize your turn.

If you set down a unit just close the tile drawer to view the board and tap on the tile you placed, it will lift up and you can rotate it or reposition it.

The pause button is really useful for the discard though. Sometimes I discard a tile to keep a Battle tile when it turns out it's the last turn and I can't use it. So I restart the turn so I can discard the Battle tile instead.

The devs are crazy to charge only $1.99 hell even $2.99 is a steal for the game. Anyone who has not yet purchased it yet grab it during the price drop, the game is fantastic. :D

I know this is nit picky, but the text for Clown is wrong. I'm pretty sure the word "threat" should be "treat".

But why do you need to have a version 3.1.2?

Yeah, we fixed it a more than week ago. It'll be correct in next version. Unfortunately, an error was in original rules from board game.

Agreed - if you like board games, this is one of the best iDevice implementations, and will be a must-have iPad game when it becomes universal.

I have had a lot of fun with this game! :D

I showed this to a friend of mine who has just recently gotten into strategy boardgames and he is so stoked! It is an amazing game, and a really good addition to some of the other high calibre board games on the iDevices.

I got this at full price, and usually I am pretty upset when I see a price drop so soon after release, however this game is well worth full price!!

It's requires 3.1.3, and i can't/won't update. It's because updating would be really hard for me.

    Guides?

    Other than the: http://www.headlesshollow.com/downlo...himaHex_v1.pdf
Has anyone found a source for a decent printable guide?

I enjoy the idea of the game but have trouble keeping track of what each unit does. The one there helps with action tiles but not the fighters etc... I'm sure it'd become second nature if I keep playing but having to go back to the main screen constantly is really putting me off of the game.
