Universal I was holding off on buying this because i have an ipad. Thank you for making it universal. I am buying it right now.
Just wanted to say thanks to the dev for being forthcoming about the plans for the app. I was waiting for the iPad version but with the recent news I just picked it up. I am glad you also gave us advance warning about the price increase to come. As with the Carcassone devs, being honest with your customers goes a long way in building support in my book. I will definitely be picking up the expansions whenever they are released. I am fairly new to this kind of board game but the tutorial video and manual do a pretty good job of explaining the various tile sets. I do agree it would be nice to have a quick bit of info of each tiles abilities during the placement stages (such as tap and hold for the description to appear or even just a short two word description underneath the tiles). As the expansions get released this feature would be crucial. Keep up the great work!
Well, just got the game on Wed, run the tutorial and played a couple of games. Simple and fun. The length is just right for "casual" gaming just like Blokus and do not need an afternoon for a game like Catan, Carcassonne and so on (not played Reiner's Samurai yet) I think the game really need some time to master and I myself have yet to familiar with all the effect tiles. One noob question: is discard a tile a must for every turn?
what's your favorite faction? My favorite faction is The Hegemony because it can convert melee units into deadly sharpshooters! Being next to the HQ this Gladiator is able to fire 3 deadly shots at the enemy HQ while being well protected by his armor and toughness: And even the HQ is able to fire ranged shots! So what's your favorite faction?
TouchGen has just rated Neuroshima Hex an "Editor's Choice" (4 1/2 stars). Congratulations, BigDaddysCreations!
Risk and board games in general aren't my cup of tea. But, the buzz surrounding this game and the "look and feel" of the board are enough to push me over the edge. I've learned to trust the opinions of the folks on this thread...
Yes, this is a great game worthy of much fanfare. I can only wait for what looks like a long list of eventual updates that should push this game to the top of the pack! Great Job BigDaddysCreations!
Great game and great news about making it universal application for the ipad and iphone. And in my opinion outpost is the best army!!!
Wow. After waiting for the iPad version I broke down and bought this before knew it was universal. Wow. This game is quick and fun. If you grasp what the attack symbols mean and memorize one army's tiles you will be winning games pretty quickly. Probably the best game I have bought this summer. This might displace tilt to live as my go to game while waiting for the wife or when I am out of the house and bored. Once it fits on the ipad natively I am going to teach my wife and we will play. I think it's something she will like as well. Weirdly it reminds me of puzzle quest ... Not even sure why since they are vastly different games. I hope someday someone makes a single player campaign for it where you fight increasingly different and powerfully rival factions. I could see the concept of absurdly overpowered boss battles where the enemy is just one tile with tons of skills.
Going to have to agree with most of the users here.. Excellent game.. I mean wow.. Ive never been so addicted to a board game in my life. Love everything about it, lol. Can we get some more discussion on the different factions?! I'm having a hard time deciding my favorite I guess if I had to choose right now.. it would be the Borgans. I love netting a Hq then just ripping it apart turn by turn. Also the +Init from the HQ is really good for defending. I find them hard as crap to play though.. sometimes frustratingly hard compared to.. The Outpost, who just rapes when left alone. When I choose them I usually just chill on the other side of the board raping with long range attacks and letting my HQ double the output. So far my highest in a single turn has been 13 :S
Borgo is definitely a solid choice. The Brawler and Net Fighter are awesome and the Butchers clean house if you keep them near the HQ for the +1Int. I'm not a fan of the grenade since I rarely leave myself open enough to need it. Hegemony can really screw up your opponents with the 2 Net Fighters and 1 Net Warrior. A fun tactic is to place the Gladiator in front of your base to protect it with armor and now it does 3 Melee hits in three directions. Couple him with The Boss and he's doing 4 hits in 3 directions on Phase 2 with Thoughness AND Armor! I'm not a huge fan of the Moloch but they do have a ton of units with varied attack patterns. They're really more about keeping your opponent off guard. The Outpost are the real kings of the game when used properly. High mobility, ability to steal bonuses, ranged attacks, AND consecutive turns when near the HQ... it's a deadly mix.
What? What? I came in to ask again when the iPad version is coming, and it's going to be universal?! Sweet!! Buying now..
Glad you guys liked our announcement about Neuroshima Hex going universal. In few days (all depends on Apple) there should be another update ready. It's only a bug fix update, so no new features added, but you should get in anyway Another update will bring new features like the (un)famous in-game unit info
This is a great game. I'm slowly learning strategies to survive an occasional game. One suggestion I have for the game is to add statistics. I'd like to see my win/loss record with each faction.
Statistics are also planned, but have a slightly lower priority than the in-game info and hirez graphics.
