Hey, I'm trying to get my old NES set up again after quite a few years of it not being active, and I plug it into my TV via A/V cables, power on the NES with a game in it, and the little red light just starts blinking, and the TV screen flashed like red and blue...

Any tips on what's the problem and how I can fix it?

sometimes when you take out an electric device out of storage after years of not using it then it may have gained some humidity damage or even corrosion, especially in damp areas. happened to me a few weeks ago when i brought up an old yamaha keyboard from the basement after i haven't touched it in years.

i just put it out outside to get some fresh air and after a couple of weeks i went to it and it was working again. so maybe put it out and wait a few days, see if it goes away.

I'm assuming it's an old style front loading NES and not the top loader released in the 90's..

    1. Blow into the cartridge
    2. Attempt to "reseat" the cartridge, sometimes pulling the cart forward a bit rather then just pushing it as far into the system as possible works
    3. Repeat 1 & 2
