Thank you for this! I was just worried about my battery health being affected in the long run because of the constant heating. While high end games like this do tend to get the phone pretty warm, for some reason the game heats my phone up (7 Plus) in a matter of a 2-3 minutes, and almost burning hot at that! So thank you again for letting the good times continue to roll!
Man am I enjoying this game! Just enough updating to keep me moving forward. Just enough difficulty for me to have to work for it. Fantastic balance. On a side note. After a loss to the 4th boss I upgraded & started at the beginning. Blazing through the levels & collecting everything. When I eventually died I had a ton of loot to apply to upgrades. I can say it didn't feel like grinding....more like shredding! Nice job 10tons Ltd!
If you are looking for a specific character type you can force it to give you another set to choose from by exiting to the main menu and hit play again. I do this to get the psycho guy. Damn I can't remember the character type but it has psycho in the name. They have a cybernetic arm that has a massive melee damage bonus.
To get to overseer 3.0. Seriously though, was there any reason to play through overseer 1.0? Because whatever reason there was, if any, it would be the same as the answer to your question. Like having fun for instance.
Collect all the weapons and add-ons, do all the side missions, special missions, see what happens when you run out of assets... In a few words, enjoy the game even more.
The 30 FPS mode sounds like a good idea too. I thought that'd be what the battery saving mode did... What's the frame rate for the battery saving mode? I'd like a consistent 30 FPS, instead of an irregular frame rate. And then we have the question, what happens with both together? (If that's an option.)
And I'm on my way to Overseer 3.0, game feels like it's getting better and better still. Difficulty is up quite a bit now, resulting in some massive shootouts.
Actually liked it soo much that i went and got the pc steam version last night to get the whole shebang. Loving it thus far!
If we sleep for 25 msecs each update (we may also use 20msecs, the first version is at 25msecs), you'd get 700/1000 msecs of sleep and 300/1000 msecs of computation at 30 fps. However, at lower fps the amount of sleep lowers: 500/1000 msecs at 20fps and so on. With a fast device you can get 30fps in battery saver, but that requires that the device spends around 10 msecs or less updating the logic and rendering the game - this is possible if you lower the detail levels. All in all, it looks like this cuts the power requirements in half in testing. However, results will always vary with device and graphic detail settings. The frame rate depends on device and the detail level but you can lower the power requirement on all devices with this option - at the cost of frame rate. The 30FPS mode on the other hand requests only 30 frames per second. This gives you 33 msecs to update game and render frame. On fast devices the device will have more time to sleep than at 60fps when you need a new frame each 16 msecs. If the game is only running at 30fps because the device can't create more frames, the 30fps mode has no effect at all. The results of the combination will vary depending on the device and selected graphic options.
I'll try the battery saver mode as soon as the update goes live. One thing I had to turn off completely was the screen vibration. It made me dizzy and gave me headaches. I think it's because the gfx are very small on the SE and I have to focus a lot to see them (eyesight is not what it used to be ). Now, with screen vibration set to 0, I'm enjoying the game a lot.
Saw a couple people ask and I was curious as well, what happens when you reach 100 assets/pods? Saw this answered on the steam community page: It just resets and you get another 100. It's purely for flavour
Spoiler I guess what I was trying to get at was, since the overseerer 2.0 is technicallly you, is there an alternate ending. If you don't kill the previous overseer and destroy the machine? Why is the protagonist trying to stop himself after overseer 1.0? They're just some storyline questions. That's all.
