I knew it. I called the freemium part.

You people should get ready for the next bombshell. This game will be always online.

    Anybody wanna bet?

I'm gonna withhold judgment until I see how much the game holds me up with freemium timers and impossible difficulty curves. You never know. Maybe they learned a bit from the groans over RR3

It would be hilarious if they had rrimers.
They will have to change the name to need for speed with limits.
    Lol

Yeah. I dont mind timers for the more casual F2P games, but hardcore games... Common... What type of audience are they aiming for?

You only have to look at their twitter and comments on the Youtube videos to see the audience they're aiming for. 90% of the comments are "Will this game be free?" "Plz be free" etc. I don't think "core" gamers are ever going to be the target audience for mobile games. We just have to suck it up, enjoy the rare mobile gem and hope the freemium model stays away from home consoles and PC.

Yeah but I'm sure they've realized that those who want the game to be free are also most likely not willing to drop some cash on the iAP. By the looks of it the majority of those comments seem to be from young people. They might be fans, but possibly not their targetted audience.

Also I meant, which freemium audience are they targeting; the timer filled, currency filled, casual audience, or the no timers, dual/single currency, grindy, passionate/casual players?

I think they can learn a few things from RR3. They made a hardcore racing game with an unbalanced casual freemium model. It just didnt work. Even though it makes a grip of money to this day, I think it could be making more if they took a different route. A route that could have maintained a larger audience that would have dropped a few bucks here and there, plus the deep pocket minority; rather than the route they took which created abandonment, created a whole community attempting to find glitches in the game because they feel cheated, and maintained just the deep pocketed minority.

NFS being a huge franchise, hopefully they target the core audience rather than exclude us. Plenty of games out there that have done this right.

Also I dont see F2P taking over anytime soon. There are still plenty of premium releases every thursday lol

    What you guys expect?

Need for Speed is for Kids <> Real Racing is for Men

But imagine how COOL Real Racing 4 will be!
Let's give some credit to Firemonkeys...

Just imagine the Need for Speed No Limts as Need for Speed Most Wanted 2
    Simple like that!

    ;)

They replies to me on Twitter saying controller support isn't included at launch but they'd look into it.

    That's just lazy.

If they haven't used Metal and they haven't included controller support then why bother making the game? Apple gave them the tools in the SDK, so USE THEM!

Alternatively Apple could implement something like Nvida's Gamepad Mapper (as seen below) into iOS for those games that don't support controllers. (No, it's never as good of a solution as native controller support, but it's better than nothing)

Interesting to note that the notes for the game state that "you can disable In App Purchasing via settings" which leads me to believe it's going to be the Asphalt 8 model rather than the Real a Racing 3 model.

You can progress in Asphalt with little investment by grinding (although I did purchase some currency during the Christmas sale). Most of my progress has been by replaying older events and slowly building up cash reserves.

Jail broken users had such a tool called blutrol until the developer became lazy as hell. It still works on iOS 7 and lower. Back on topic: It is very Dissapponting EA has chosen to make it free to play lack MFi support & no utilize metal. It's absolutely sad
