The picture with the Lambo is killer!!! Please add touch controls...!!! I totally want this game but tilting my iPad is pain... I just played a game (TheEnd) for 40mins with tilts and my right shoulder is off....
By the way, it would be nice, if we could updates wit touch controls for the older NFS games! So the waiting for most wanted would not take so long.
Hehe agree... Never took a lot of satisfaction from the older titles, after i used iPad as my primary iOS gaming device.
if it doesnt have touch controls i wont be buying it, you would think they would add both control types to suit everybody and get as much money as they can out the game
Guys, the developer hasn't even launched the game yet. Touch controls might be in the process of being added right now. Or just might not have been in any of the pre alpha builds we've seen yet but under development. I don't know but it's possible. The developer has read the thread. They are aware of the posts by people and their comments in relation to touch controls. It is every second post after all. I am confident that they are taking those comments into account. Can we please not fill the thread with the same comment about touch controls all the time. It seems to be the only comment in the thread and the game is not even out yet. Let's not forget we're talking about two of the best iOS developers ever combined into one studio, I'm sure they know exactly how to make a great racing game. A few suggestions about what type of gameplay or modes would be more interesting. Or the addition of a multiplayer mode would be nice. Let's kick back and see what they come up with.
@zergslayer Yeah, I remember when those pictures were first released. There was a bunch of Vita and iOS shots came out together. The last picture in the set was from the Vita because it had Criterion on a sign in the background and a bunch of cars lined up. The others were meant to be ios, including that Lambo one but it sorta looked like it might be a Vita shot to me as well, but its a 960 x 640 shot (iPhone screen res) so it is more likely iOS. Plus it looks like a street track with the barriers and arrows around the side which is the iOS version as the Vita is open world. As long as the Aventador is in the game, I don't mind.
Has a release ate been set? Been waiting for this and FIFA - was hoping they would be out be start of school. No rush - getting it right is more important, but wondering if a date as been announced.
Well, the vita has a 960 x 544 resolution. 4S has 960 x 640. Not a big difference really. Pixel density is where the real difference is, 220 versus 326. The Vita version of the game will look better as it is going to be as close to the ps3 version as possible. Not a port as such but you know what I mean. Criterion are trying to make Vita as much a replica of ps3 version as possible. The vita has the advantage in that it's using most of its ram to run the game. The 4s has to run the iOS, notifications, cellular network connection, email and all the other stuff it has going on in the background. I imagine that if they could put the vita build on the iPhone, that they would. The vita build most likely just has too many effects going on and running an open world of that type on an iPhone is just beyond its abilities at this stage. iPhone 5 will have 1 gig of ram so we should see some interesting stuff coming at that stage. It's hard to see the difference in res from those pictures anyway (the graphics difference is obvious) as they are two different builds anyway (essentially different games with the same name) but to me it doesn't really matter that much, not a fan of cross platform comparisons. I'd like to see the same build of a game running on both just to see the screen difference in context. The resolution of that Lambo picture is 960 x 640 is all that I really meant in my previous post.
Would be cool if the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 get their own console version but that won't happen. But they definitely have the specs to do it
That would be super sweet. Again won't happen. But Real Racing 3 (I know, not open world but) will certainly fill the simulation console like experience for ios. I mean RR2 came out two and a half years ago and it's still the king. It's difficult to evn consider what RR3 will be like. NFS to fill the arcade type racer gap and RR3 for the simulation racer experience. That's it, I'm out, the drool on the screen (iPad) is ruining my keyboard.
Yeah, I sorta thought that was what you intended, but I seem to lack the ability of writing short concise replies. You're graphics point is very right. It looks like the game that will finally make the vita worth it. It has a couple of good games but not enough. And none that look like NFS MW. Yet.
This game will be awesome... anyway! My idea for Criterion is a secret car at the end of the game as a reward! The car could be the Zenvo ST1. I would love drive it! HaHaHa
