Regarding drifting, I would say it is largely unnecessary. Actually, I never drifted at all until after I won the game. I had to drift because for the last few races it was impossible to get a Gold medal with my car (I can't remember which...I think the $500k Lamb) w/o drifting.
This game is very largely based on drifting around corners and curves...absolute ONLY way you can get gold on some of the Hot Rides and a few later races.
Can anyone tell me if the installed size of the latest update is less than the previous one? I think the first time it was 1.7GB uncompressed/installed. It seems the download has seen its size reduced...
Loving this game so far...Got this game just now and it is amazing...but I need some friends on origin my username is "Namolmes" be sure to add me plz.
I actually hated pretty much everything except the one called the chase. So every time I fired up the game I played the original most wanted's soundtracks in the background. Made the game infinitely better
I'm such an idiot. While I know I can press the right side of the screen to drift, never occurred to me I can start the drift process while driving straight coming up on a turn! I've been starting the drift when I'm pretty much in the turn..causing the car to really slide, causing me to lose control. Game changing revelation for me!
I have two questions for the hdmi or apple tv crowd. 1. Why does this game have such good looking framerates on my tv versus on my new ipad? Since it doesn't support airplay, which is a true shame cause almost all the other big name racers are airplay, it uses mirroring mode. But on my new ipad, it looks like 30 fps. On my tv, it looks like 60 fps with almost the same graphics, actually looks better because the brightness, colors, and of course size is different. My other mirrored games like nfs shift or others, I don't notice this framerate change. Is there anyway, they could be making the framerates better without fullscreen? This is puzzling. Man on a tv, I swear, the framerate looks so high. The speed seems like twice as fast as my new ipad. Strange cause I don't notice this in my other non airplay games. 2. Does anyone know how to disable airplay and run mirrored? There probably is no way to do this, and I am sure airplay looks better than mirrored, but I really want to play Asphalt 6&7 and real racing 2 in mirrored mode to see if I get this same framerate increase in mirrored mode. Too bad there seems to be no easy way to disable airplay, but if anyone knows, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Does anyone know for sure if the other previous nfs special edition cars will be available later? Last week, the first one was available again for part of a day, then the update came out with nine new cars, and seven of them were nfs edition cars. I have the first five of the original seven - don't have the last two most expensive ones (and now may not have whatever other one they made available last week - can't remember). The achievements for the nfs cars is not working - or it is only counting cars you get since the update. That would make it impossible to get the one for getting all 14 cars even if they are reissued, unless the achievement is fixed to check what you already have.
Last week's NFS car was the Corvette ZR1. I somehow got the impression that there will be 14 new NFS cars since the update but I could be wrong. Here's for hoping though On a side note, the new Marussia B2 is the BEST Sports car in the game right now -- better even than the NFS Porsche 911 Carrera S. Not only does it look awesome, it has a higher top speed and better handling with the Nitrous Burn and Power Pack mods added. You can almost get all golds with it if you're good. I just got gold on the last Most Wanted vs the Aventador without too much effort. That puts it in (average driving) Huayra or Agera range if you're really good at the best lines and good drifting in the events. Just wanted to pass along my new discovery today. Add me: adamdbuhler
Apparently you can't have more than 100 "friends" through Origin so I've had to unfriend some people to keep my speedwall competitive. I hope nobody is offended by that. I'm here to compete on the speedwall since there isn't a true multiplayer. Add me if you're competitive with your times! To find out if you are please add me on Origin: adamdbuhler See you at the top of your speedwall
I use iPad3 with Apple TV but my experience is very different. First, unlike Sky Gamblers and RR2, the "Airplay" mode is no different from any other game playing with mirroring on -- black lines on both sides, the display on iPad is the same on TV. Worse, I notice the input lags and the framerate drops noticeably from time-to-time, but not as bad as RR2. On the other hand, Sky Gambler flies much smoother on my "older" hardware. Still it is fun and good looking on my crappy TV, but I would prefer the iPad screen instead.
This game is not airplay, that's why. Apple tv is not too good with mirroring like hdmi is. That's probably why there is a big difference. Some other users were posting for mirroring, hdmi was the way to go. Apple tv mirroring was supposedly laggy and intermittent. Also, on hdmi, I use stretch mode on my tv, so it is full screen. Using mirroring mode, the framerates are incredible. Why? I got no idea. I think it has to do with the graphics rendering. I would still get hdmi even if you have apple tv for better mirroring performance. It's worth it, for less than $50, you get an adapter and 25 foot hdmi cable. Apple tv doesn't do mirroring well like hdmi. But it is really too bad that this game doesn't support airplay which both hdmi and apple tv support. I really expected airplay, and was kind of disappointed that airplay wasn't supported. Try hdmi, you can always return it in 30 days if you don't like it and you will see what I see, looks MUCH MUCH better framerate wise on hdmi. My tv screen looks tons better than my retina ipad screen. Not even close, tv looks so much better and like a console game. Try it, and you will see. Apple tv is wireless, so it does not have the bandwith to do mirroring well, you need hdmi for that.
Hey, thanks for the reply. I still have the old HDMI cable for the 30-pin connector somewhere (thank goodness!). I tried but I am not very wild about the xp because I am totally spoiled by wireless controllers (even my mouse is wireless now), not to mention the cable is a very thick thing and very awkward to use when you tilt your device. I think Apple TV is great for media thing but isstill subpar when it comes to gaming.
