Just downloaded"mini car champion" a nice little racer that is free today.what surprised me, they did it ! Just two arrows for touch control! A little company found the solution for a Problem, EA is never able to find. Congrats!
Need For Speed Most Wanted - v1.0.1 iCloud 60 fps Multiplayer [New] Touch Control Open World 0.99$ 1 New Car Longer races (4-5 minutes) 2X Bigger City Map Am I asking too much?
Okay. Now we know that you never played Asphalt 7. Of course you can get into an accident. It will cost you five seconds when you hit a wall or other traffic. You'll see a nice slow motion video of the flying cars and the damages. Then you drive on with a repaired car. It was true for Asphalt 6 in the multiplayer mode. No accidents possible.
Played NFSMW on the train this morning and almost missed my stop! I REALLY like this game! The controls, pacing of the game, not having to faf around with upgrades - SO much fun! This will be in my goto racers folder for sure!
iCloud: YES 60 fps: if it means lowering the graphics, then no. Performance on my 4S has been excellent, and fps is fine. Multiplayer: HELL YEAH!!!!! Even though I deleted Hot Pursuit to free up some space, I still miss local multiplayer mode [New] Touch Control: YES!!! Open World: The game has been designed from the ground-up to be a closed circuit system, so it would be extremely challenging to do that now. Although a 'free-race' mode wouldn't be bad. 0.99$: Wait till EA's yearly Christmas sale 1 New Car: I guess they can add a few more Longer Races (4-5 minutes): Yeah why not! But I still like the concept of just picking up this game on a train or bus, playing for a minute or two, and then close it. 2X Bigger City Map: I guess if they really see a demand, they could add more tracks.
What's interesting in your list is that you want the game to be $.99 while most early adopters would get very angry. Anyway good thing EA will ignore it. Maybe iCloud n more tracks. All else is pie in the sky!
I've been very interested in this game so far and read through the whole thread (even the EA/Firebrand like representation of SolidFart and the Gameloft representation by Habakuk). I'm a huge fan of BOTH series since the beginning of each (NFS on PC for me and Asphalt on the DS) as I love arcade racers (same for the modern Outrun games, which i wish would come to IOS along with classic style Burnout)... Anyway I have a question... am I correct to assume that if you get Gold in every level that you will still hit a wall where you can't progress without playing the levels you beat and grinding up or paying through iAP for the privilege to continue? If so, then I'll have to avoid this. I'm all for stopping progress because someone didn't get all Gold medals or whatever. That makes it a reward to continue based on skill. But I'm 100% against not being able to progress despite getting the best records. That's just bad game design.
No. It's perfectly playable and there is no incentive to buy the IAP like Asphalt 7, unless you want to get ahead of the game quickly. There are one time 'powerups' or tunes which can be installed into your car for a nominal fee (credits) though, but those are for the most part optional, unless you're using an outclassed car.
If you don't mind using the upgrades, select the handling and top speed ones. Helped me to pass most hot ride challenges so far.
So you are saying if I get gold in every race I'll never hit a wall where I have to go back and grind through races. I just want to be clear. Is it possible to get gold in all the races without the powerups or with the money earned along the way? I don't want to get this and then get half way through it and realize that I'm stuck not able to progress not because of my skill as a racer but because it's impossible to have the right car or enough power ups without grinding. I love level grinding in Turn Based RPG's when it's optional... I just don't want to be forced to do it because of bad design meant to artificially lengthen the experience. EDIT: Meant to say "thanks" for the feedback. Thanks.
I'm playing through - not sure how far - but have only even needed to buy two cars. Not used any of the upgrades/tuning. Just doesn't feel like IAP is going to be an issue and others have finished the campaign without IAP or significant grinding. This game is really great. It gets the arcade essentials right IMHO and I am enjoying it more than A7.
Cool. I'd be interested in your feedback later when you get further in the game. It's hard to figure out who is biased one way or the other. I love both series for different reasons. So I don't care if someone likes it more than another game... just if the mechanics to progression end up require ANY grinding. If not, then I can see myself getting this when it hits the $1.99 or $0.99 price point (and no doubt that'll happen, probably by Christmas).
The lambroghini event is pretty much impossible wothout mods to get gold. And we need vinyls and rims, spoilers, etc. This game, I have to say, is better than real racing 2!
