Wow. You get buried in studying for tests, doing loads of homework, testing five betas at a time, doing reviews for your site, updating your Twitter, your MySpace, I'm beat! lol
Yeah, I think I'll stick with one beta at a time. Been getting a load of work from school lately. I don't mind the installing/uninstalling since I'm on the computer alot anyway, so it really shouldn't affect anything. Just hope I can get in a good amount of time to really get to see what needs to be improved. If it's anything like writing a review I'll probably enjoy this.
Actually, it's a bit more work than writing a review. The problem / joy of beta testing (depending on how you look at it) is that you have to scrutinize everything to make sure things work well together, play well together and generally just make for a good game. Plus, if it's a game with a lot of dialog or narratives you have to worry about spelling and grammar and things like that. Of course you can do all that when you're writing reviews, but that sort of takes the fun out of writing reviews
I have one more question about testing. Is it ok if I show my friends the game? At most I might let them play it for a minute or two if that's allowed, but I just wanted to make sure that was allowed first.
I'm going to guess the answer to that is no. The developer was toying with the idea of having us sign an NDA, and I think he's let that go now, but I'm pretty sure he wants us to keep this just to us. The rule of thumb I use when beta testing is that unless I've seen the developer state somewhere that I can share details on the game, I don't.
Yeah, same thing happened to me when I was testing iBlast Moki... then I went to the Apple Store, the geniuses wanted to play with it, and in the end it resulted with my warranty being nullified because they saw I had my iPod jailbroken.
Lol I think youre a bit late dude... it closed a few nights ago and actual testing started last night/this morning. Sorry
