    Actually, there is a game called Dark Souls, which has 2 awards: souls and humanity. Humanity is rare and very special, while soul is common. Actually you only use the souls to purchase items and to increase your stats.

    For me in this game bitCredit is the money and ResearchPoint is the experience or skill point (which is logical according to its name, since with research you get better at hacking :D same with the cards, you can buy better ones or do some research and get better yourself).

    Anyway, it's not bad, that these use different awards. This makes it easier for the player, to make better decisions. Though I like the overlapping of them with the cards, because this way you can decide which can you afford more (early you don't need much RPs, but later you do, so it's good, that you can change your tactics). But it's also true, that these using the same award might give more strategy.

    Yeah, sorry I started with the whole Dual Currency thing...

    I think it's that way in my head since I use RP to reroll my cards quite a bit...

    though as I've progressed through the game, RP seems to be pretty rare (compared to BC), so I'm using it solely for upgrading skills now.

    Again, I'm sorry about that. I should have been more clear...

    We struggled a lot with stats, equipment, items, and progression, before finally settling down on the current system.

    At one point we almost made a diablo like stat system. (I use to be a big D2 fan ^_^ LV 97 firewall sorc; cows don't stand a chance!!). We were thinking about using: W.A.I.T.

    Wisdom - application of knowledge or situational experience.

    Awareness - ability to observe and have vision into momentary changes.

    Instinct - GUT feelings and sub-conscience intuition.

    Tactical - calculated planning and strategic understanding of causality.

    Would have been a very different game! We tried toying with mechanics like allowing the player to assigned points for each character's WAIT stats.

    Also built a way to "equip" the cards on the team, but it was hard to justify that we had this "infocard" (knowledge) that they knew about but could not "equip" due to team limitations? Was headed towards, "maybe the team can only think about a limited number of things??" It didn't work out. =P

    We both used to build computers. It went on tangents like having a team server farm where you can upgrade the CPU, motherboard, RAM, LED glowing fans, water-cooling upgrades, etc... "We need to include a turbo button!! (Like on the 486's in 1990). Cody can flying leap into the server room and push it. 33mhz -> 66mhz!!"

    The ideas was to spend BC to upgrade server equipment and tools, but RP to situationally equip/un-equip cards (passive abilities). The cards at that time would not have been the stats, but may have been passive abilities instead of stats.

    None of the above made it into the game in one piece. @.@;;;

    First. The game is a blast. I absolutely love the setting, conversations n the whole user interface. Very hack'ish ;)

    But i'm struggeling so hard right now. I have to fight three different enemies to accomplish the mission. They r using a "infected floppy lv8" skill n becuz of that i have to constantly healing myself, without any chance to do significant damage. This skill is rly op :p

    My skills and hp are already at max. Am i doing something wrong or am i just sucking that bad? xD I guess there is no way to grinding cuz i dont see any exp bar or something else...its just for bc and rc, right?

    It's easy, just use virus + data recovery. Virus will kill them overtime.

    Heya! Find vulnerability plus a strong attack that's matched should help do over the healing.

    Also memorizing the move sets and kill9 healing attempts is a possibility. Read the logs and write it down. You'll be able to see the ai algorithm

    Thanks for playing our game!!

    Steve is leaving out a few things. Beware of a few change-ups in the AI logic. @.@;;;

    Good luck! @.@;;

    I could never play barb well. Much more difficult than sorc. I stuck to the meph runs too. =P

    Pindelskin's minons would always swipe me and I have horrible luck random teleport spawning in the middle of a hoard. Good times. Makes me want to load it up again :3

    Hi, thanks for the tips. Btw I am curious y the skills descriptions sometimes didn't complete the sentences. It Shld be 4 lines of wording but it just stop on the 3rd line. Also the skill decoy description is kinda wrong, absorbs 0 dmg. I am at lvl 9 of that skill and it still says absorb 0 dmg lol.

    I REALLY played too much. Level 94+ archer, Shera (Marvina's Set), level 90+ Necromancer (LOD expansion) Skeletor (or something like that), Level 80+ assassin "Manyfaces"...see a theme here.

    If I wanted to, I could have sold my equipment for over 1500 bucks on ebay. The Grandfather (I think that was the name, a sword I had) was worth over 500 bucks at one point alone. And after a certain update, PRE-update SOJ's (I don't even remember what that stands for, just that they were D2's equivelent of cigarettes in prison) became really coveted. I had a stash of 30 or so of them. That was the first time I discovered people would pay real money for virtual goods.

    In fact, I found out about the WTC being hit in a multiplayer chatroom. Needless to say I droppedthe game to watch the news..

    Anyway, nice to see you drop by! TA is really enjoying your game :)
