Count me among the winners! Relentless spamming of Kill 9 at the end coupled with a few lucky breaks (Banhammer leaving *1* party member intact) and I finally managed to take down this monstrosity. My app crashed too shortly after but for me it was more about conquering the impossible so I ain't even mad. That being said I am still excited for the update and also to see what comes next from BoxCat Games, they have a supporter in me.
Hey guys, since the current final boss will be tweaked in the next update. If you want to give it a go with a little inside advantage. Here are some notes. Make sure you post screenshots. Side note: You may run into the crash mentioned. I found the issue. It will be fixed in the update after next. It happens sometimes, not all the time. =( sorry! Spoiler AI adds BanHammer every other turn after Health is under 48363. There are two attack patterns that the boss will toggle between. Be careful though... There's a normally used BanHammer in the patterns. So this could end up being: Heal(pattern) Ban(added because HP < 48363) Ban(pattern) Ban(added because HP < 48363) VLan(Pattern1) or AntiVirus(Pattern2) Our strategy: Have about 8500 or 9000 HP. Make sure Kill-9 is maxed at lv 15. Make sure the super weapons are maxed: Binary Beam, DDoS, CannonBall, Format Disk, Math Blaster Figure out what the two patterns are. (Hint: one is VLAN related, one is Anti-Virus related) Fight the boss normally, kill-9 on the turns after you see heal. Continue this until you can setup the next scenario. Get the Boss' health to 50000. This will not trigger the special AI yet. Boss will Heal, You should reboot Boss will Ban, You should kill-9 If you're un-successful, setup the scenario again. Do not continue. Boss will cast a wall next, knock it out with BackDoor At this point, you're alive, boss is still not doing the special logic yet. You have about 4-5 turns before you hit the normal patterned' BanHammer. Port Scan & Attack with everything you have. The AI will only start using special logic one turn after it has been under 48363 HP This will give you one extra turn to launch attacks. Now alternate attack, kill-9, attack, kill-9. Each time a special logic banhammer is inserted into the pattern, that's an additional turn before you hit the normal banhammer within the pattern. If you see the boss heal, that means it's at the normal banhammer pattern, kill-9 until you see Port Scan again. Kill-9 the special AI logic banhammer again after Portscan, but begin the attack/kill-9 alternation Also, this is not in the current update, but would love your opinions on helping to build more content. What do you guys think of the following modification: Jayden's Decoy, instead of absorbing damage, will protect against the status effects of any of the following: Shock, Disconnect, BanHammer, Kill9, Find Vulnerability). Damage from the move will still be applied to the player. Give us your vote ^^
I think this is a great idea, especially if it was coupled with defending being more effective at reducing damage (could be leveled up as a skill maybe).
Infocard suggestion. Such a well crafted game. I wish more of my friends liked RPGs so I could recommend it. I'm waiting for the iPod update before I tell my pod carrying friends about it. One thing I'd like in a future update is for the infocard list. Instead of identifying the card as #01 in the infocard icon on the list, I'd love to be able to see the % completion of the info card. That way I could scan my cards quickly to see which need completing!
Tried to get this game today for my 3GS but I got a "requires front facing camera" error. Looks like I won't be playing this one for awhile. Why does it need a front facing camera?
Sounds like a great suggestion! We'll add it into our list of suggestions and see what we can do about it. Hi Omi, The front facing camera requirement was enabled to prevent a few devices from being able to run the game as we weren't completely done testing the iTouch. I am not 100% sure if the 3GS will have enough memory to run the game. Sorry!
So... The update hit! Now the end boss is WAY too easy. =o/ Anyway... Just finished the Spoiler 5th after boss pyramid and took a break to come here and say THANK YOU!!! Hope you guys are killin it at GDC!
Woohoo! So what's next? Spoiler Just beat Omega at the End of Time and maxed out the final card. So is there anything else after this? It's been a fun ride
Although the 3GS still can't download, I used the work around (thanks for the PM!) to grab it. After two hours of play I can happily report not a single crash, slowdown or issue thus far.
Grmmpf, still no support for iPad1.... Why? Can someone send me how to get around the front camera wall.... Thx! BTW iPad is jailbroken... Maybe I try Google first
Hi Everyone! We're at GDC right now promoting the game! We're working on pushing another update to enable all devices capable of iOS 5.0 and crossing our fingers that it works! Also, we've been reported a bug that causes crashes after you beat TAPAS (Sorry). We're working hard to get that resolved and try to get the game smooth. I'm really tired so my english may be incoherent. By the way, big shout out to Tim (the creator of Indiana Stone). Met him at the pocketgamer party and you all should check his game out if you haven't. It's amazing! Okay, back to grinding... Also, expect more end game content to be released... and possibly more content in the original game as well. Expect this game to continually be updated with content and cats. Thank you so much for supporting us. We definitely wouldn't have gotten this far without you guys!
Thanks pocket!!! Update on our GDC Progress: We've gotten a lot of eye balls by people in the industry and connected with a ton of other developers! Everyone has been extremely supportive and also has told us we are crazy for releasing a game like this with no social interaction, and no in app purchases. But they love it! Big question: Would you be opposed to social interactions in a game? (This is probably not going to be in Nameless, but our future games may have this) Example: You are about to do a boss mission. The boss mission costs 200 byteCreds to execute or you can have friends give you "inside" information and bypass the 200 byteCreds fee. What do you HONESTLY think?
I have 3 IRL friends that have iDevices - alongside my 3 daughters, wife, nephew and nieces... But none of them are on FB or Twitter... And all of my friends on FB and Twitter - don't have iOS devices. If they do, they use them strictly for music purposes. But I also know that a LOT of people do NOT have FB/Twitter accounts, and avoid games with social interaction simply because they have it... I think they're so surprised that you didn't include it because a lot of big development companies see it as a big thing... kind of like Myspace before everyone realized how much it sucked. FB and Twitter are almost there too... But I don't get why so many developers are pushing social networking crap. IMO, leave it out. It's a waste of time, effort, and could very well cost you customers.
I tend to agree. Even with this place, where it's very easy to compile GameCenter friends for leaderboard or social purposes, I never mess with it. My friends never really got into iOS games, either. I gave up after gifting a couple OLO games and they'd never even play that with me. Unless it's co-op mode or vs., I can't see myself changing anytime soon.
Yup! Agreed with all of you. Someone suggested this as an idea to us, but I wanted to see what a few of you guys felt.
+1 I have twitter, but I rarely ever use it, and I have no interest posting that kind of stuff on it anyways. Thanks for asking users opinions.
