Yeah sorry :( We got a lot more responses then we thought and were looking to start asap for this first beta.

Keep your eyes peeled though because we will probably be adding another wave of testers in another week or so, and will keep that registration open for a few days.

Ok ive only played through the first two levels and the tutorial and this is a very good beta and it is close to being ready for appstore release. I really love the tutorial because it is in depth and gets you aquatinted with everything so youre not completely lost when you start, and the tutorial is very quick also which i love since it gets me to the game faster. Gameplay is very smooth on my iPod Touch 3g and i love that there are different level layouts and difficulties. The one thing i want to see at this point is with the level selection on the map it would be nice if it highlighted the name of the level you tapped before you start playing, (i only say this because i keep hitting different levels but that might just be my sausage fingers lol.) But so far this looks great guys, keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback! We're looking into making this easier; you should see this improved in the next beta build :)

Visual button feedback is also coming, so that should make knowing what you click more obvious for everything.

    Doing nothing of importance.

I'm just getting around to installing it right now, but I have a quick question. Would you mind if I posted a video of gameplay to YouTube, or should I wait for a later beta? I know some devs feel differently about that than others, so I wanted to check first.

Yeah preview videos should be okay. Only thing to note is the main menu and load screens are not finished, and be sure to let people know its not a final build.

Oh yeah, I'd let them know. And I must say, I like the "THE END IS -NEAR- HERE" Screen. Great game so far.

Hey kugi igi, thanks for the feedback. I'd love for you to elaborate on what exactly you think needs tweaking so that perhaps we can improve it ;)

So far I am on Rooftops. The game plays even better than I thought! Right now I only have a few gripes. The leapers seem incredibly cheap. Two shotgun blasts (lvl 2 I think) didn't kill them up close... If they are that swift, they should at least die easier I think. Another thing, I didn't even know dogs were added when I was on Broadway (I think? It was the first night level). A litte note or hint would help a lot in the diary entry letting you know of a new enemy. I never saw the dog and it took me a while to find out what was attacking me. Back to the leapers, they seem to float. They fall too slowly. It might be just me, but it doesn't look natural. So far the only bug I have found, was on Endless. The first wave didn't have a timer. I'll let you know more when I get further. Also, I love the loading screen.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, leapers will be addressed. So far almost everyone seems to have a problem with rooftop. Expect to see the difficulty in easy mode be reduced quite a bit for certain levels.

Also we are buffing shotgun which should help. It should be able to kill leapers in one hit at point blank range in the next build, as well as we are adding one more bullet to the initial ammo count.

As for the endless bug... was it just once that the timer didn't work, or has it happened several times? I've never seen that happen, but we'll definitely look into it asap.

Thanks again and definitely post any more feedback after you have played more :)

I second the comment on introducing new zombie types in the diary. I noticed you did that for the Tumor Zombies but I don't think you did for the giant or the police zombies. Let's just say the Dark Lobby took me a while haha. When the giant knocked the wall down, I freaked out. Also, is there any trick to killing them? The level where you have to kill three of them was a bit tough.

Would it be possible to get hold of a beta? mainly to report bugs and irritations. I used to Beta test Daedalusx64 for psp back when it was a closed beta but now its open I'm not really needed. I have a 2G ipt3 device. Its kind of exciting to see a left4deadesque game making it's way to the ipod.

The Endless bug only happened that one time, the timer works. Also, I think a warning pop-up should be added if you try to start a new game. I usually go through menus with my thumbs, and I guess I hit start instead of continue. I selected the difficulty, and realized I just erased my game. I had no idea until it suggested the tutorial and my only level was the first one... A pop-up would definitely help.

Currently there is actually large red text at the top of screen giving you a warning about erasing your game and starting a new one. I guess its not obvious enough?

But good suggestion. We'll see about making a pop up to make it more clear :)

As for the enemy journals, I'll see if we can cram some more info on the new enemy types in there, though we'll have to internally discuss this one. One on hand, from the perspective of the guy in the journal, he wouldn't always know there is a new enemy type. On the other hand, it WOULD definitely help the player prepare better for what is in the level without playing it first, then dying and messing around with new equipment.

That being said, we are toning easy difficulty down so that you shouldn't have to experiment so much with new loadouts. We will save that for "apocalypse" mode.

As for killing giants, yes they have a crapload of hitpoints, so you have to use some of the heavy weapons vs them. Rail gun and sniper rifle have very high damage, and do EXTRA damage when zoomed in. You can kill a giant in 2 shots with a zoomed in rail gun. I also like to pack a flashbang when fighting larger enemies that take a while to kill. Just keep stunning them while you slowly whittle them down. Finally, don't forget that shotgun can knock enemies back, including the giant (at point blank). If he is right on you, blast him with shotgun. It wont kill him, but it will buy you a bit of time and you can disrupt his attacks this way.

Let me know if you still have difficulty with those levels :) But like I said, we ARE toning the difficulty down a bit.

    Thanks again for the feedback!

p.s. sorry Devilmandex, beta is closed for now :(
