Loving this game. You guys are in for a treat. And I truly believe a voice chat option would be amazing in a game like this;)

Ha Ha so true, even on normal mode. In an apocalyptic situation texting is a big no.

So the co-op isnt wave-based (like in COD Zombies)?

Nope, just an endless stream of pain. Surviving five minutes is pretty impressive :D
    This is a GOOD thing.

Its pseudo wave based... you just don't get much of a break inbetween waves :p We wanted the co-op arena to be more fast paced and brutal, since this is iOS after all, so the action ramps up pretty quick. I'm thinking most games will last 3-10 minutes depending on skill. But we have medkits (not in beta1) that randomly spawn across the map (the map is large), so there is a reason to explore too. Also, you play the arena with your persistent character, so naturally you will survive longer as you progress through the game, get more skills, and get better equipment. So fun to get my fully equipped melee character in the fray (bat, riot shield, kevlar, and gas mask), and just tank the heck out of everything ;)

Mind you, this is just the co-op arena... there are also regular team-up missions. If you're having trouble on some of the more difficult missions (harbor, for ex :p), you can invite a friend who has already beaten it (or is struggling on the same level), and beat it together. It should be fun to get the help of someone who is a few levels ahead of you :p

How are the missions structured? Is it like Dead Trigger, Left 4 Dead or is it like a more traditional fps?

I'm not sure in what way you're talking about exactly... but in NYZ2 missions are mostly objective based. Some levels are large, some more confined. You'll have to do things like talk to survivors, defend other people, explore, find items, defend yourself, etc. These objectives are all tied to the main story.

I would say the core of the game though, is more about customizing your character, and managing your weaponry. What equipment you choose for each level, when you use the weaponry in-game, and which skills you learn make a world of difference. In this regard, NYZ2 I feel is very different from most shooters... you really will have to think about which equipment you want to take with you, depending on the situation!

I think this is the first shooter I've played where for ex where it actually makes sense to use a bat and riot shield in close quarters combat (in fact, I couldn't beat one level until I went this route). Most games its just a linear ramp up of better equipment :p Here, you can find a use for almost any equipment all through out the game.

We're getting real close to submission ;) Just sent out beta2, which will be the last beta build... and a short one at that.

As for gameplay vid, hoping to record some footage tomorrow!

Yeah guys, beta 2 knocked it out of the park. This game is amazing. I'm so lucky to have tested it. I must have 7 hours in and im only 60% done with the game, so i have to figure 10-14 hours is no far stretch. The levels are absolutly beautiful and really capture NY. Trust me i live here. And with coop multiplayer the replay value is off the charts. Thanks for opportunity to test this gem and I can't wait for this to go live. Everybody needs to get this. See you all on the Brooklyn bridge;)

Fastbridge you are absolutely right. I've spent about the same amount of hours and this game is awesome. NY zombies 2 involves great strategy by choosing the right weapons/ skills and going over a game plan to complete the mission. The replay value is huge.

We definately have to play some Co-op and see how far we can get.
