Thanks for the update, with all of these features your stating I'm hoping for a zombie game that will DOMINATE the AppStore and live as long as bug heroes and NYZ lasted (still living btw )

Not to worry. It looked like the iPod would be difficult to optimise for considering whats in the game.
I hope it doesn't delay the release of the game would be my only concern.

And you know Apple could have put more Ram in the iPod touch 4G. Apple's way of getting their customers to buy the next latest and greatest device. I do like their products though.

My heart broke a tiny bit but given my own device is and iPod 4G, I'm extremely appreciative of your efforts.

Kudos to you for sticking to your guns and optimizing the crap outta it for everyone.

    :D

I'm sorry for all iPod touch 256mb owners but these devices really need to go. It's the cause of a lot of games not being fully optimized for higher end devices. I strongly suggest that any owner of one strongly consider a upgrade cause I doubt devs in the next 6 months will even support these any more

Well I'll tell you what - you send me the money and I'll be more than happy to upgrade. I don't like the problems any more than the developers do but I'm lucky to even have one in the first place, and I'm not going to pay $30+ a month for phone / data service I don't want just to have an iPhone.

Yes, fast bridge maybe the iPod touch 4G could be a better device but I spent 430 bucks on this device last year for the 32 gb version. Don't feel like spending close to 500 bucks on the iPod 5 now.

But you are looking for an impossible trade off with a touch 4th gen.
High end graphics and immersive gameplay on a device with 256mb of ram. That also has to run an operating system.
    It's an extremely big ask.

It's understandable that there is expense involved in trading up. But if you can't do that, what is the solution? Having the touch 4 is definitely going to limit the future game releases that will run on it now that the touch 5 is out.

I definitely have a feeling that the touch 4 will lose support from developers soon enough. It won't happen in six months but I'd guess that anything starting development now will not even attempt to include a 256 ram device.
And everything else will have substantially lower graphics.
Nova 3 is a good example. The fog on the lower devices is just incredible. It is a completely different experience altogether. Coming from 4s and iPad 2, I find it unplayable on touch 4.

It's a shame, I know, but it is the price (pun not intended) of progress.

Well no argument here. There definately is a significant difference with the iPod touch 4G and the iPhone 4s, iPad 2. The A5 chip is probably the minimum requirement for real good quality on a mobile Device. I play on the iPhone and iPad 2 sometimes and your right there is no comparison playing Nova 3 on the 4s and then playing on the touch 4G. Even any game on the unreal engine is downgraded on the touch, lighting effects, splatter and shadows are eliminated. Still the touch is still a good device but I will eventually have to upgrade again.

Apple really has us by the gonads making us upgrade our devices every year and spending a fortune.

Ah, the touch is a great device.
It's the only reason I now have an iPhone and an Ipad.
The touch was my first idevice really (not counting iPod music player).
It's the thing about the Apple ecosystem, as I call it.
Once they have you, they have you forever.
And if you want to keep up, it costs ya every year.
So they definitely have us by the gonads.

So true. I don't even want to think about the countless $$$ I have spent on apple products, accessories, apps and paraphernalia.

I think in a couple years will be at a point where upgrading a device would only be for cosmetic and minor improvements. The only reason I upgrade my iPhone every year is for performance bumps and soon I think the phone will be powerful enough where it can't go much further. Kind of like us having the same Xbox and ps3 for years. Until then apple can TAKE MY MONEYYY. But enough about this, I can't wait for this game. I check my email about every 1 hour hoping for that e,ail from test flight. Anybody in the beta that's up for coop play please send me a pm

I'm not so sure. The way technology is progressing, a couple of years ago they had the A2 processor on mobile devices. Then the A4 chip. Now the A5 and A6. Next year they'll have the A7. Five years from now they'll have the A8,9, 10 chip??? Now they are getting into 3D with video games and of course they will want that ported over to the mobile industry.... Then you get into virtual reality... When does it really stop???

Apple will continue to have us all, because we're technology junkies.

Fastbridge, Once they get the build up, I would definately be into playing co-op with you or anyone else interested.

I don't know about you, but I have spent thousands of dollars and plus another 400 for my iPhone 5 preorder. I am a slave to apple.
