I know, those crows are a pain in the... !! That's what's brilliant about this game is the difficulty. On every level, there is always a zombie/ rabid animal that is tough to beat but you eventually find the right load out.

    Im sorry...

That was harsh I was actually working as I wrote that that sounded rather petulent lol. I do love zombies I think on iOS CoD Zombies is kind of the standard though I never played the first NY Zombies so I could even be wrong about that. I only watched the video I am on the fence about buying it...I understand what you say about powered weapons but it seems to me if thats the case then a pistol shouldnt have even been given to you right away. Realistically, zombie or no, a skull cannot withstand 1 or 2 shots at point blank range. Watching the video he just kept shooting and it seemed to me it was more like 4 or 5 shots but it just sort of takes me out of the action when it takes several headshots to kill someone thats all. The game might be awesome and I am still on the fence..

I've played about two hours into the game now, not having too much fun with it unfortunately. My biggest gripe is that it's not a very good shooter. The gun mechanics are slow and clunky, the walking is slow and stilted... it just doesn't play all that well. I like the gun purchasing mechanics/skill trees, I like the levels etc... just playing the thing isn't very much fun. Add IAP and you have a game that I just can't seem to get behind in any way at all.

There are certainly better shooters on the iOs market, that much is for sure! I personally think the CoD zombie games have more depth when it comes to actual mechanics and gun-play, hell for me even the ever-boring Dead Trigger is an all around more attractive package - and not just for the fancy graphics. The shooting feels right in those games, it's quick and responsive. Your character doesn't get hung up walking and stopped all the time. It doesn't have an amateurish feel to the whole package like NYZ2 does, just a lot of polish.

No disrespect intended! I just wasn't sure if you were giving feedback based on playing, or watching.

As far as realism goes, there is a fine line between realism and gameplay, imo. We wanted a sense of progression in NYZ2. You have to build up your skills, you have to level up your weapons, and you have to continue to get better (skill wise) if you want to keep pace. I understand some people may not prefer that... Anyway, hope you end up giving it a shot!

Thanks. NYZ2 does have a different feel to it, so I understand some people just might not like it... what can you do :p It IS a lot about progressing your character, and combat focuses more on weapon switching, managing reloads, and using the right equipment at the right time over advanced maneuvering.

Though, to be fair I'm not sure how much more responsive you can get besides tapping on an enemy and it instantly shooting to where you tap. That is probably the most direct and responsive form of gun firing control there is!

I prefer iron-sights, tapping takes out the skill I enjoy in FPS games (aiming/shooting.) Tapping for me, is too easy and doesn't offer much of a challenge. Tap-to-aim turns it into a shooting gallery rather than a traditional shooter, cool for some but not for me.

AWhat is up with the dark vignette effect when playing? That is terribly distracting and seems to just make the game look muddier to me, is that something you can make optional? I've never seen a more distracting version of that in an iOs game! Either way congrats on the game, just perhaps not my cup of tea!

I understand you have your opinion and I'm not trying to change that but iAP is common with all fps games. With this game it is not necessary. IAP is for people that don't want to use skill to progress and want to rush through the game. It's really a shortcut and takes away from the challenge of the game.

Yeah, lags like hell on my iPod Touch 4th gen. It seems like it would be really fun and the menu navigation is really cool, but the actual gameplay is slow because of the lag. Please fix this!

I have plenty of FPS iOs games that don't have IAP. Again this is just a personal thing, but any IAP (even just pay for cheats) burns my hide a bit. I'm from yester-year and remember when cheats were free and fun. Now I need to pay real world money for them? Sorry, just not a business model I can feel good about endorsing.

I have to agree with what Silentcorp said on the previous page.

And plus (not sure if anyone reported this before) but there's a bug that makes the game almost unplayable. I just started playing and came into the central park map. There is an unkillable invisible zombie... I can see him on the radar and I can see his blob shadow - but nothing else. He attacks with 1 damage per attack and is moving almost the same speed as I walk back. Please fix this... And no, there was no bat or anything around me.

Well, I finally come back and test N.Y. Zombies 2.
A big leap ahead to first episode, I like graphics, athmosphere, sounds (great!!!).
The game is playable very well on iPhone, not very well on iPad. I think customization of controls is needed for ipad as well as floating dpad.
In second level, with dogs and birds, it's difficult to understand where to turn when under attack, also if that give more suspance and atmosphere to game.
I like graphics but there is many bad clipping (also discussed by other user forum before).
Anyway, great game. I really hope developer give us update with control customization (i want to move button where i like).
For iPad dpad need to be also smaller.

Haven't played it, but I when I finally saw gameplay in action, I decided not to buy it. It looks like everything you said, and I really liked the first one. I was really looking forward to this one, but it looks like the original Doom. It's 2012. Shame. They should've stuck with what worked and just added co-op or something.

    Lol

I take it you have never played the original Doom or Wolfstein 3D. And even if it did look like those games, so what? If you desire fancy graphics and mindless, boring gameplay with zero story go back to dead trigger.

BTW, I know it's been mentioned, but hot-diggity-dog those are some beautiful menus. Genius.

  16. But I like the casino in Dead Trigger!

Am i the only one who loves the graphics? Even then are the graphics so important? The graphics are great in my opinion and still so many zombies appear on at the same time. Id sacrifce graphics for more zombies on screen any day.

I suffer no lag what so ever on iphone 4. On the latest ios 5 version.

I could be wrong but I think he meant gameplay wise. Personally I think the shooting/movement mechanicsin the original Doom trump NYZ2 in overall smoothness and gameplay. That was his point, I believe.

Haha, guess so! Well, besides us...

    So i guess supposedly this

is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much worse than this....

    that it looks like this...

Maybe I'm blind or something, but while YES, I am fully aware NYZ2 is not in the same ballpark as Dead Trigger, Infinity Blade, NOVA 3, etc, some of the best looking games on iOS mind you, to say NYZ2 looks "horrible", "like the original doom", "below par" or whatever else is just... well, I'll just have to agree to disagree with you :)

Finally, I just want to point out we actually do some things that many other games don't, like dynamic muzzle flash lighting, for one.
