So, guys, does nova meet your expectations of gameplay and graphics, leaving aside for the moment performance?

Honestly, aside from my bickering... It's gorgeous and fun. Wish for force feedback but that's apples fault lol I do really want to love this game but just can't get into it knowing what I know... Yet. Hopefully soon that changes and the AI is pretty crummy lol

There was a new a5 chip put in the iPad 2 when the iPad 3 launched so probably that chip.
It's substantially smaller, with better architecture, than the a5 in the 4s or the pre march iPad 2. Probably the basis for the a6 iPhone chip as well. So that chip is probably what the touch will get, which is a good thing.

I thought that new a5 was just more power efficient

Played each and every one of those. May give mc2 a shot! Thanks for the suggestions!

    I don't know why but I enjoyed MC2 much more than 3.

From gameloft fourm also totally useless answer, no thought went into it at all, in a rush much?

    Hello everyone,

    As Killercow mentioned:

For all of you who play N.O.V.A. 3 Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance on the newest iPad you'll be able to chose between the Retina resolution or Motion Blur & Particles effects in the next update.

Both options can't, unfortunately, run together.

    Have a great day!

    ________________________________

THEN DONT RUN FULL RETINA ITS SIMPLE AS THAT, just scale it back a bit like chair did with infinity blade 2, you are not gonna get retina res with all the effects on with the current architecture in the ipad 3 , but scaled down its fine, the screen will still be beautiful no matter what just running at a bit lower res but higher res then 1024 x 768.

The campaign, definitely. Multi, mc3 is by far best.

Well it is more power efficient, about 2 hours better battery on the iPad 2.
But it's architecture is very different.
The specs are essentially the same, as in clock speed but it's about half the size and built at the new Samsung factory where they manufacture the chip PoP (package on package) with the ram so it's efficiency is greatly increased.
I kinda wish I had one of them more than an a5x so I'm hoping, virtually sure, the a6 will be based on it.
It's a 32nm chip as well whereas the a5 is 45nm which makes a big difference in the real world if we want thinner devices.

What could've been awesome setpieces, and the beautiful environments the game had were marred by shitty, shitty AI.

Play those. If you've got a console, buy Warrior Within instead of playing a crummy port, and actually buy StarCraft (1 or 2) instead of the sloppy StarFront. Nobody plays StarFront online anymore, anyways.

No, you can always find a match online. Never had problems with that. And the pop port isn't crummy at all, esp on iPad.

Nova 3 AI is much better than mc3's, which isn't saying much...

StarFront HD or StarFront on the iPod Touch?

Start of N.O.V.A. 3 is a short on-rails segment. Way to sell me on your game, Gameloft. I sure do love not having to aim at all!
