Came across a similar situation myself.
Not sure if it's a bug or a hack.
Another game a guy with a jet pack killed everyone with knife as well. I just assumed the jet pack was way over powered because I can't get to knife anybody because the button comes and goes too quickly.
So dunno basically. Will check out the regular hack sites.

Edit: Okay, had a look around. The only hack so far is infinite ammo and infinite grenades. Don't know if they work or not but here is hoping they don't. Doesn't look like there is any kind of melee hack.
So what you came across must have been a bug or teleporting from lag. Hopefully because that would be on bxxch of a hack.

Hmm... I'm seeing better performance in the MP after I rebooted my iTouch. Also, maybe the servers are better as well?

However, my FPS still drops drastically whenever I'm in a lobby with 12 people.

  3. Right here :)

Epic! I just posted a proposal on the GL forums here:

Could you see that the right people get a look at it? Thank you. :3

    Just a quick question.
There are some very strange numbers on the leaderboard.
    10 to 1 k/d ratio for two players who've played 7 matches?
Plus one of them at the top with over 1 million xp?
Can't see any hacks, not that I would hack cause hate players who do that, but can those numbers really be right?

Anybody know what the language is like in this game? Is it as excessive as MC3? I saw some people say in their reviews that it was "rather excessive." However, once again, Gameloft fails to warn us of this in the ratings.

What ratings? You mean 12+ for frequent violence? I'm no expert on how the approval process for the app store works but I highly doubt anyone other than Apple picks those ratings.

I didn't notice excessive swearing in it. Then again I didn't care or pay attention to that aspect.

I think there are a few swear words. I'm just starting the campaign mode but to my knowledge, it's just fine. I'm definately digging the campaign on this game.

Does anybody know the length of the campaign. Around 5 hours?? Also I'm a little surprised there isn't a crouch button on this game ( maybe I'm missing something) Not a big deal though. This game is unbelievable.

BTW, if you want excessive, play Gameloft's 9mm.

Yep those ratings. Though I do believe you are right though. I don't think Gameloft actually gives its own games ratings. ;) From what I saw of the trailer there seemed to be nothing too excessive. I appreciate your responses though. Thanks a lot.

    Yes yes yes

  12. Yeah I can point them that way (though they've likely already seen it ^_^). There are lots of people taking feedback (usually ghosting, which is why it may not look like we are) ranging from Customer Care to our Comm Managers on forums & social media. Just so you know.

Our live, server & anti-hack teams will be monitoring the leaderboards to take note of any inconsistencies. It could be an error, but I guess we'll see if it remains over the next few days :)

So do I. I have the latest hardware, and paid fully expecting to get all this nice eye candy, yet it's not there?? At least give us a toggle or something, GL!!

That is absolutely strange how Nova 3 wasn't fully optimized for the new iPad because I thought the new iPad was supposed to be the greatest device yet??

I am glad that the game is optimized for the iphone 4S but yes I'm a little baffled at the new iPad's graphics

It depends on your definition of "The greatest device yet". If you look at the curent generation of consoles, you'll see that they have a hard time pushing all 3d games at 1080p let alone 720p so asking a mobile device like the ipad to do that at a 2048 resolution was a huge bet. Now it works great most of the time but you need to optimize your game (which clearly is not the case with nova) or upscale a lower resolution while adding extra effects (like AA)

    OMFG graphics noobs

Speaking as a game dev here -

The problem with the effects comes down to this: BANDWIDTH

There are lots of transparencies in things like particle effects, heat from gun, etc. PowerVR's major architectural weakness is that it cannot render transparent things fast. So when it needs 4x the bandwidth but maybe gets 2x if Apple doubled the bus size (which is HARD because a lot of other things have to deal with that doubled size), transparent things become VERY SLOW.

As for a quad core processor, that wouldn't have made the least bit of difference in this game. Gameplay/physics on one processor, graphics and sound on the other. There's pretty much nothing more to do and 1GHz is plenty for the complexity they have.

Now on to my question again: does ANYONE own an iPad 1? Can you PLEASE comment on the performance?
