I don't want a multiplayer game. Yeah I rebooted and everything (I'm not new to iPhone gaming). Gameloft in my opinion set out to dazzle with NOVA 3 graphically. For the most part they do, but I want to play the game I bought. That's where it's seriously lacking. :-/
Yes, i find it awful too and specially thinking how well they did all their previous similar stages (on the other FPS of them) i was surprised why they change it so much.
Aww the campaign's actually pretty decent...give it a chance. The only thing it's lacking in is performance and AI. Performance will hopefully be fixed soon, and AI, well, it's pretty the iOS standard, unfortunately.
This is true. I remember owning the first gen iPad in 2010, dismayed after Infinity Blade. I got into a brief debate with Mark Rein of Epic Games over the graphical fidelity. Anyone who owned iPad/iPhone 4/3GS/Touch 4 remembers that IB ran with a ton of bells and whistles, graphically, on every device EXCEPT iPad 1. Through further understanding, even though it had the strongest chipset at the time, the resolution limited what Epic/Chair could do. You ended up with a visually inferior game; none of the texture maps, shadows and light mapping were available on that one device. This may be the same case for iPad 3 owners: the resolution is too high = stability/heat issues? That's my guess.
What i did is that i tried give the direction of where i want to shoot only with my right thump until the target locked and after that i shoot immediately.. I think the whole thing is to be fast while you re giving direction and shoot with the same finger and also not using only one gun (only missiles for example) because you will need more time to cooldown the specific weapon.
My opinion of how well nova 3 plays ( on IPod 4 gen ) Single Player: I've played only the first chapter of the single player and it's okay. It is missing most of the effects like shield effect, particles, real-time reflection on the guns but I guess Thts to be expected to allow it to run on iPod 4g. The voice acting and plot is okay I liked it but I think te nova 2 plot was better. It stutters and lags a lot sometimes. Multiplayer: I was totally disappointed by the multiplayer. Here's why: -iPad users have much more of an advantage playing the game do to the low draw distance on the iPod touch 4g. On some of the bigger maps iPad users can see the whole landscape while on iPod you can only see medium distance any farther all you see is fog -the bigger maps lag and the lag is reasonable but once you get 2-3 people to join on the big maps the games drops frame rate to around 10 FPS maybe less and that's only with 4 People in the match. -the sprint button is messed up because unlike mc3 you CANT TURN while sprinting. -Killing people takes way to long. The very first weapon (assault rifle) takes about 2-3 magazines to kill ONE PERSON. This one free for all match I played I won with a score of 15-4 and it took me about 20 minutes to get those kills because the maps are too big and it takes so long to kill somebody. I really think that gameloft spent more money on advertising then making it FULLY CONPATIBLE for all devices. I mean why release a game for 3 different devices when it doesn't play the same way on all three. I'm not saying that I want the graphics to be as good as iPad 3 I just want it to be more optimized for iPod 4g ad reduce multiplayer lag. Anyways that was my 2 cents hope you all enjoy it ht. I think imma go back to mc3 for now. Add me if you want to play : STK_Ajay_AoB Also get the app palringo from the AppStore and join the group mc3 toucharcade. There are other people there and we do matches sometimes and it's not only for mc3. Mc2 and nova players are welcome too. We needier people there as only me and my bros are there (lolavi, killjoy_89, joemama25) so join! Pce ----Ajay Saini
Yes i agree... And as for the last sentence this is the first game that heat up my iPad 3 so fast and so much!!!
I'm enjoying the single-player more than I enjoyed the MC3 single player, at least. It looks and plays amazingly well on the 4S.
Exactly. Performance is lacking. I'll hang on to the title for a while. But as is I can't play it. If I could adjust the controls to my liking then yeah. But rigid controls and laggy performance. I should have passed on the one. It's a step back from NOVA 2, how sad.
In pushing advanced graphics, the GPU, not the CPU, is what makes or breaks performance. And Apple's PowerVR SGX543MP2 is quite the beast. When iPad 2 was released, the GPU outperformed the contemporary Tegra 2 generation by more than 5x, leading to a bizarre gap in 3D graphics performance between it and the Android tablets. A quad core in the next iPhone would indeed be nice, in particular for OS performance and a small boost to game performance, but if the iPhone 5 has a sufficiently powerful GPU, even with a dual core A5 it could leave both the current and the next Android generation splashing around in the kiddie pool.
