Please please, please re-boot your devices before playing. I experienced some stuttering before doing so. Still happens after, but not to such a high degree. Anyway, this game is GORGEOUS on my iPhone 4S. For ANYONE saying otherwise, I simply don't know what's wrong with them. It's absolutely STUNNING. Far as gameplay is concerned, it's smooth and buttery (aside from the hitches here and there), and plays like you would expect a NOVA game to play- it just feels more tight. It sounds good, the script is propah (said like Hammer), and it's only 7 bucks. I don't care for multiplayer, so if it stinks OH WELL. Again, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS on 4S.
snaps... okay. time to clear some room and get this game on my ipod! times like this really make me wish i got 64gb
Alright, haters can hate but I just played multiplayer and it beats anything on the appstore. This is freakin halo lol!
Really on the fence now. :/ Got an iPhone 4 and I'm not even remotely interested in MP. From Sanuku's video, performance is less than stellar, and what's this about a crappy SP campaign? What do I do? :/
The campaign is very meh. Voice acting and script is awful - makes me want to shoot myself. Graphics are gorgeous, but that should only take a game so far - I know for some that's all they care about. Multiplayer is about as fun as mc3. I only had some lag in my last 2 games, maybe cuz more people are starting to play. I don't know if it was worth the $7 - the multiplayer might make up for the lackluster campaign
It should be out to anyone in USA or Cananda, whatever time zone, just search Gameloft and scroll down to thē last few games if it doesn't come up searching "nova 3" Seriously it's in the app store. It's not recognized by search engines etc but it's there you just gotta find it
Just downloaded this and started playing it on an ipad2 and I can't believe how amazing it looks, it destroys everything else on iOS and it's like the beginning of a new generation of ios gaming . Amazing stuff, it looks like a console game, no really this is the first iOS game( with games like infinity blade not counting because they are so limited ) that DOES look like an xbo360/ps3 game !!! It might run on the MC3 engine but this engine has been tweaked to the maximum since it blows away , the already good looking, MC3 . The gameplay is a breeze and a joy, gameloft, for all it's fault, perfected fps handling on an iOS device with MC 3 and this continues from where MC3 ended in terms of handling . Glad I didn't wait for a price drop, games like this deserve to be bought at full price just to support the developers. 5 for such a game when the new resistance for psvita costs 45 ?
From reading most of the thread, I may buy it. I'll wait for more MP impressions, SP only takes you so far, I rarely play games twice. I'm also interested in lag on iPad 3. I think it's unacceptable if it lags at all, but I won't say I'm surprised if it does. Also don't expect Gameloft to fix anything in the next month, they're slow or don't update at all.
OK, this game is beautiful as I don't know what, but where in the hell is my motion blur? I miss that from MC3. I think it's probably already been noted, but it's a bummer it's missing. I need my motion blur to make me feel like the flash when I'm running. I'm still stunned, though, at how great looking this sucker is. The iPhone 5 had BETTER have a bigger screen, though. This 3.5 inch barely gets the job done. Thank jeezus Gameloft put the things in the correct space. I miss being able to place them wherever I want, though.
Hmm.. The multiplayer is actually pretty awesome. However, it does take some time to kill someone. Sometimes, if the person is lagging and they're like teleporting 5 metres away from where they were before. Also, the FPS drops a lot when you're in a lobby with about 8-12 people. With like 4 or 5 people in a lobby, the game runs silky smooth!
Multiplayer is really fast paced. The maps are also pretty big but with playing against 12 people you are always in the action. On my ipad 3 the multiplayer runs fantastic and that being said I have terrible internet connection. I haven't noticed any lag as of yet and It's going great. The vehicles control really good too I don't know what everyone is talking about... Also melee actually gives you kills this time unlike in nova 2. I was really glad about that. The gameplay is a lot different than mc3 btw. This is a really fast paced shooter that involves a lot of running and jumping. So far the multiplayer is pretty much perfect imho.
is that how it looks on a a small 4S screen? It certainly doesn't look as good as an Xbox 360 game on my iPad 2. Have you played Gears of War 3 on Xbox 360? Uncharted? And you think this looks as good as a 360 game?
Very possible. I was able to enable The iPad 2 effects for dead space on my iPad 3, (for some reason they weren't activated) the only thing i really did was swap some texture and particle files. I'll look into nova 3
Oh come on, comparing this to the top of the line exclusives for these consoles? It generally looks like a console game, with the great IMO screen ( even the ipad2 screen is gorgeous IMO , despite the lower resolution) making it better . Just like how we say uncharted for vita looks like a console game , while looking far worse than uncharted 3 , this is a similar case .
Agreed. iOS can come close at times, but it (generally) doesn't compare graphically with its big-budget console brethren. Yet.
Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but it would seem that iOS gaming will likely only catch up to the current generation consoles about the time the next generation consoles are available (assuming the next gen will arrive 2013/2014). That said, the graphical prowess of the iPad (3) would be far more impressive in a lower resolution (xbox 360 and ps3 games generally run at resolutions sub 720p to maintain their high framerates while pushing graphical limitations). Consumer obsession with having games run at the native resolution of the device limit what can be accomplished, although that focus is due in large part to Apple's marketing. By focusing on pixel-pushing this generation, Apple has essentially halted any other graphic enhancements consumer gamers might be hoping for (the additional graphic memory of the new iPad is dedicated to enhancing the resolution, not giving us some of those post-processing effects we're looking forward to seeing on the smaller screen).
I dunno, maybe I've been playing too many 360 and ps3 games lately, but even the average 360/ps3 games nova 3 on the iPad 2 doesn't even come close. It looks really nice, but I think it's definitely missing the the high end graphics and much of the effects from the higher end consoles. Maybe it's closer to a last gen Xbox game, maybe a little better, but not a 360/ps3
Come on people, wake up. iOS games will never compete with console. iOS games will eventually look better than current-gen consoles(which have seriously outdated hardware) but gameplay and replay will never reach console. That said, iOS games are usually under $10 while console are $50-60.
