From the latest podcast it looks like polygon counts for character models and number and complexity of environmental objects are up, but still no dynamic lighting/shadowing like muzzle flashes or explosions illuminating other objects. As usual, textures seem to look great from afar but are pretty blurry up close. And that weird red clawed plant at 5:14 really needs more polygons or better quality textures, because it just looks strange. Overall, it's still looking better than any other FPS on iOS. If they are targeting a December release to mark 1 year from the original, then they still have plenty of time to work on things. I'd certainly expect full Game Center integration with 10 player multiplayer including iPad vs. iPhone/iPod Touch play, co-op, and voice chat. It would be interesting if they could get AirPlay to display gameplay onto a TV through an AppleTV.
Agreed. Modern Combat 2 beats all iPhone first person shooters, in terms of graphics, gameplay and customization...for now!
So now we not only know that the graphics are amazing, now theres dual weilding, and vehicles! Im really excited for details on multiplayer, I hope there is the same amount of customization as seen in MC2, with vehicles included of course.
I the one year anniversary is coming up in december, than I think that is the most likely time it will come out. It seems that they are pretty far through. I hope it does come out in december and I bet it will be a top selling app for a long time.
I think earlyer, because Gameloft usually releases games not too long after they announce them. My guess is mid november.
Given how long Dungeon Hunter II has been out there it's hard to tell. I think the 1st week of December makes sense so they have time to make it iOS 4.2 native and have iPad vs iPhone/Touch gameplay. I wonder if the unified iOS 4.2 will finally discourage developers from making separate iPad versions considering the graphics assets are probably shared with the Retina Display versions anyways.
There are of course exceptions, but they also haven't really released alot of info for DH2 yet, unlike for Nova 2.
the only thing i see that is standing out between this and mc2 is the vehicles? but what if we could do that in multiplayer? and omg i came up with an idea. what if they make a futuristic sport multipllayer mode where you can shoot people and stuff but it's like basketball...like a first person version of crunchball 3000
