Couldn't tell you; basically I was having the same problem and that deal wasn't coming up forever, so I just kept switching the areas where I was waiting. I'm pretty sure it finally came around in the Exhibition Hall, but you might want to switch it up as an experiment.

Ok, I've been running some numbers trying to get a grasp on the different skills/stats/artifacts and just what they do; here's what I've come up with:

First of all, if you look at the icons underneath the enemy hp bar during a fight, you have 5 possibilities for those icons, from left to right:
    - the first icon slot is actually an enemy buff slot; it looks like a gold shield and is reserved for when an enemy casts shield on themselves.
    - the second icon slot looks like gold pebbles, and procs when you apply the stun debuff on an enemy; it sets back their attack timer by 0.5 seconds. No stat that I've been able to determine will affect the length of the stun debuff.
    - the third icon slot looks like a purple blob that lasts for 2 seconds. This has the effect of reducing the damage from an enemy's attack if it's up when the enemy attack timer reaches full. While the two-second length is apparently set in stone, the ENERVATION stat affects how much the damage is reduced by; from my tests it seems like every additional 5% of enervation reduces incoming damage by ~525. I'm not sure if that number changes based on your total hp or what; that's just what my tests showed.
    - the fourth icon slot looks like a bloody dagger and procs when you apply the "enduring damage" debuff. The length of the debuff can't be affected, but the damage it does is affected by the DOT stat. Need to run some more tests to figure out exactly how much of a damage increase each DOT percentage point gives, but I know DOT% is what affects it.
    - the fifth icon slot is an enemy buff slot and is reserved for mobs that cast the renaissance spell to give them essentially a second health bar after the first one is depleted.

Second of all, here's what the rest of the stats do:
    - The circles with symbols in them (target, dragon, lightning bolt, shield, (leaf? club?)) only affect the DAMAGE that those character types do (in this case - ranged, dragon, magic, tank, and melee, respectively.) If in your team selection screen you tap one of the character buttons, a pop up will show what types are strong and weak to the other types.

For example, a God Slayer is a melee type; strong against magic/ranged and weak against dragon/tank. This is actually a two-fold effect. On the offensive side of things, a melee type will do extra damage to magic/ranged and reduced damage to dragons/tanks. From what I could tell, it will also take less damage from magic/ranged and take more damage from dragons/tanks. (I ran a test with only melee characters in my team and when I fought dragons/tanks I took more damage than when my team was more diversified.)

NOTE: as those circle-symbol stats only affect damage, if a character only heals, the stat will do nothing for them from what I can tell. (i.e. a Pontiff doesn't do damage, so boosting the magic-damage stat won't change anything about a Pontiff's mechanics even though a Pontiff is a magic type.)

The REGENERATION stat affects healing. Though, oddly enough, it didn't actually affect characters with the "regeneration" skill like the Werewolf Chief or the Night Demon; the chief healed 650 per attack and the demon for 600, and no matter how high I boosted regen, they stayed at 650 and 600. However, the healing done by my archbishop and pontiff increased by the appropriate percentage.

The HP % stat is self explanatory. More HP = good.

The BLOCK stat subtracts the amount of the stat off the top of any incoming attack. (i.e. If you have a block stat of 2500 and a 10000-damage attack comes in, only 7500 will pop up in red on the screen.)
It should be noted that technically the enervation stat reduces damages by more per artifact upgrade than the block stat, but with the caveat that the enervation debuff needs to be procced at the time when the attack comes for it to have any effect, while the block stat is passive and therefore always applied.

Lastly, the HIT and DODGE stats seem to be opposing forces, though I'm not sure how the calculations are done. From what I can tell, if your hit stat is significantly higher than an enemy's dodge stat, you'll connect pretty much every time; if your hit stat is significantly lower than their dodge stat, you'll miss pretty much every time. Same kind of deal for when enemies are attacking you; their hit stat is compared to your dodge stat and some sort of roll based on that ratio determines whether they'll hit you or not. Note that the hit and dodge stats aren't shown as percentages; at the time of this post I have a hit stat of 204, but that doesn't mean I hit mobs 204% of the time. In the magic forest rift I still miss the end boss all the time, even when using character types that are strong against the boss's type.

Regarding character skills, art of the confusion stems from the fact that while some are self-explanatory (like "Stun") others are less so ("Black Hole", "Decollate", etc.) But the thing to keep in mind is what icon each skill applies to the enemy. Even if they have different names, if two skills proc the purple blob icon, it means those skills do exactly the same thing, and both will be improved by upping the enervation stat.

    Anyways, hopefully this helps.

PS: If anyone's looking for any advice as to how to advance through the rifts, my advice is to prioritize upgrading the following stats/artifacts first: Regeneration, Block, HP %. Make sure you have the archbishop and pontiff in your team, and if you can swing it, the golem. Even if your hit rate's low, the important thing is *winning the fight*, which you can't do if you're dead. Even if you're only getting in 100 damage every 10 seconds, if your team can outheal the enemy's DPS, then you're good to go, since it doesn't matter how long the fights go on for. The only things that can throw a monkey wrench into that equation are a) the mobs that cast fireball (since it's now additional damage that needs to be healed through) and b) the mobs that can cast frost spells (if you're juuuust able to heal through a mob's damage, but then they freeze one of your healers, you're screwed.) If you can heal through the damage, every other mob fight is just a waiting game. In the later levels however, you WILL need to start buffing your hit rate stat, as you'll eventually come up to mobs that you miss 100% of the time - which means you'll need to flee the fight to get out of the infinite miss loop and you'll end up losing some of your team members as well as whatever you were carrying at the time.

Also, I beat the second rift's boss; the relic you get is the "Vanguard Talisman" which has a base stat of +40 dodge, that goes up 25 every time you upgrade it.

Beat the third rift's boss; the artifact is the "Divine Rapier" which gives a base boost of 20% to melee character damage, and increases by 10% on each upgrade.

To be honest with you, I'm getting kinda bored of this game. It takes a lot of grind to farm dragon scales to generate essence and make a few upgrade items. The process of "leveling up" is just so slow now I came help feeling that it's a good time to play a different game now

If you have the highest bread upgrade, rather than farm dragonscales you can attempt to get to the level 5 and 6 bosses of the holy-torch dark rift; they drop electric stones, which can be traded in for 2000 essence each. Maybe a little slow going, but at the very least (if you have the mats/money for holy torches) you can farm it as much as you want, whereas with the dragonscales it's every 6 hours at the life gallery.

Yeah, I guess that's worth trying. The holy torch rift resets every time, right? So the bossses aren't in the same place each time? Haven't yet managed to get past the 4th level before bread ran out....

Yeah, it's random; I'm going to be doing some testing to see whether it's TRULY random or whether there's just a number of pre-set maps the rift chooses from.

With that said though, I don't know about anyone else, but I've found that about 80-85% of the time, the boss is in one of the bottom two corners, favouring the bottom left. So I'll always head directly left until I can see the left border, then head down to the corner. If it's not there; then I head right to the bottom right corner. Most times it's in one of those two spots. If it's not I just keep following the wall until I find it.

But I'd say following that route, I get to the 5th boss maybe 8/10 times, and the 6th boss maybe 5/10.

Another good tip for the rift: you can get 21 (31 if you share the game) free diamonds a day; I use these to buy portal scrolls (10 diamonds) from the diamond shop so I have one on me at all times. That way in the rift, I don't have to worry about having enough bread to make it back to base; I can just explore until I have 1 bread left and then portal back before I die.

    Summary of guides

Hi, new to the game, just beat level 5 and farming resources to progress 6 in peace.

Was wondering if anyone has a guide to what units to upgrade first?

Also, if anyone has a compiled list of guides available, that would be really helpful! So far I've found the guides for all units, shops in maps, resources conversion.

Thanks! Awesome game, just bought all the dlc

Some other tips I discovered and/or collected
    - At low levels before you unlock the smelter for coin, assign craftsmen to cloth, then sell the cloth for coins if you're too lazy to hit the "alchemy" button.
    - When saving up for Eternium bars, assign craftsmen to produce gold, then convert the gold to eternium for significant cost savings with little time overhead.
    - It's always cheaper to produce the materials yourself using craftsmen, but if you're lazy then just buy them with coin. Example here from EggFriender - http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=3979425&postcount=275
    - Farm dungeons by killing everything before the boss, and then exiting for faster coin and materials. The boss dungeon for Maps 9 and 11 are great for farming.
    - The upgrades for Moon tier units in Exhibition Hall are located randomly for each player, but don't change location each time you visit. Utilize the cloud save feature to check for the upgrades you want.
    - Moon upgrades for Reaver, Spell Knight and Alchemist don't spawn in the Exhibition Hall. They drop in the Dark Rift.
    - I feel that the Light Priest is better than the Paladin for earlier levels due to the greater heals.
    - You will get around 10 Luna orbs as drops while clearing Luna city. When starting Luna city, head to the Life Gallery at the Southwest corner (might be randomized) to grab a few Dragonscales to upgrade your units. Looks like a "#"
    - It's a lot harder to farm for coin after defeating the Ancient Evil God. (Arenas, Eternal Arena, sell luna orbs, craftsmen)
    - I find that in the Holy Torch dark rift, the buildings around your starting location seem to "point" towards where the stairs to the next level are. Doesn't work 100% of the time, but at least it gives a better starting point than moving randomly. (IMHO)
    - Damage over time (DOT) stacks. So you can safely use both the Mind Weaver and Dark Dragoon, for instance.
    - Don't forget to grab your 7x3 + 10 Diamonds for watching the daily ads and sharing to Facebook.

Huge thanks to all who provided tips and guides

Renoa: get at least two healers as high-level as you can get them in your group. If you have those, it honestly doesn't matter what the other four characters are until the much-later levels.

Thanks SJ. Do you think it would be a legit strat to stack a team of several stun units?

Also, what's the fastest way to farm for coins? I'm at 55 coins/10s, wondering if there's any faster way other than that + alchemy.

If you can save up the gold (which might take a while at this point), getting to 195 workers (I think) will allow you to be able to gather 66 gold and 1 bread. Later on (or right after, if you have the patience to wait) if you get to the max of 230 workers, that lets you gather 77 gold and 2 bread. I think when I did the cost/benefit analysis of spending the gold to upgrade from 195 to 230 workers, it calculated out to me making back the gold I spent in about 2.5 days. Upgrading from 55 to 66 gold you would make back the gold in less time. That's not taking into account the stone cost for the huts, but if you hit "gather" a lot you shouldn't have any trouble. However it's a trade-off of course; any gold you spend on huts isn't gold that you spend on unit upgrades.

I would also save up the diamonds from the daily ads/sharing to buy the double-speed gathering perk in the diamond store.

As for your team, I'm a little hazy on what I used at that level. Healers for sure; I haven't run the calculations on where the tipping point is where stun is more effective at lowering mob DPS than damage reduction (or vice versa).

Again, the most important thing is to simply have the ability to survive a fight. Long fights that you win are better than short fights that you lose, so if you have the choice between picking a character that has a damage-over-time effect and/or high DPS, and picking a character that has stun/damage reduction/heals, always pick the stun/damage reduction/heals.

As always, thanks SJ for the extremely helpful replies. Will work on increasing my worker count soonish.

Currently clearing map 9 with Frost dragon 3, Ares, Paladin, Archmage, Ranger, Hunter. Almost have the 400k to get the Dracula. Haven't lost a fight yet, had to use bread sometimes though. Decided to go for Archangel over Pontiff for the stun. Dragonkin soon to come.

If you can though, I'd get the pontiff sooner rather than later; pontiff has the best heals in the game.

    ._. I already got a paladin T.T
Should I get a dracula or healing angel first? Learning towards dracula since he can replace my 3 star units.

Edit: Got the drac, 0 regrets.
