While I understand having more apps means more memory used for icon caching, but does it really use that much memory just for icon caching? Chair mentioned the icon cachine issue, so I'm sure some of their Infinity Blade 2 fixes was supposed to see that, but some people still have problems with the game. I also don't really see how much free flash storage space you have relates to how an app loads/runs unless Apple is also using the flash for caching (similar to Windows using harddrive for additional caching). Theoretically, say an ipod touch with the same number of apps/music/videos on different size ipod touch (ie: 8gig, 32gig, 64gig) should run the same shouldn't it? I haven't played too many UE3 games, but for Infinity Blade 1, I got so tired of taking relatively long time to (re)load, then fight say one of the deathless, die in 30 seconds cause of random lags, then reload for a relative long time. The loading time really takes the fun out of it, and the lags really hinders my enjoyment of the game. But then, maybe I shouldn't have upgraded to iOS 5.0.1..cause before, at least the lags were less frequent. This is the main reason I haven't gotten IB2 yet, cause I'd rather wait till I get an upgraded idevice that can play IB2 smoothly to fully enjoy it.
Again, 2 points where you are incorrect. 1. The IAPs don't really effect the mp much as you can only buy 2 of each killstreak per game. Besides, earning coins is fast and you still have to reach the rank before buying a weapon with IAP. My only gripe with the mp is the hackers, but they're easy to identify. 2. The controls are in fact nearly perfect. Maybe you've only tried the default, but you can actually customize them to whatever you like; resize and relocate. Besides, I used to hate the controls too, but then I realized you can run and shoot at the same time. It is the best FPS experience available and the multiplayer is most definitely the most varied and best on shooters and maybe even all genres. I've put 180 hours on it since October and I could easily put another 180. There's so much weapons, skills, perks and other stuff to keep you occupied and to unlock them. Plus it's fun. Maybe you sucked at start like me, but in your case you didn't enjoy it. Goofy, you're an awesome fella, but I have to disagree with your opinion. Don't take this as an attack against you, more like me defending my favorite iOS game of all time.
Haha... that's fine. No game that has IAPs in the MP will ever earn my respect. It's just my hardcore core that won't allow it. Trust me I customized the heck out of my controls like I said originally in the MC3 thread... remember I was there at the beginning. I still think it feels a bit forced IMO. Like I said MC3 is far from my favorite shooter on the platform. You also have to remember that I have played on a ton of consoles and portable gaming consoles, so my frustrations are a bit different than some. It's why I think Gabrien raves so much and then people think he's OTT. Personally, I don't think a lot of what he says is OTT. I, myself, am OTT at times too. It's a different mindset. Sort of like people thinking the Star marine controls are hard, but I think they did a phenomenal job with the 8 way style. I still dislike the IAP, but I understand why they put in the game. It's almost like older people saying look at how horrible this younger generation is.
