so my screen broke on my 3g and my warranty ran out. i was looking on ebay and found some very cheep screens just wondering if these are legit and if they are how hard they are to replace. i read its $200 to have apple do it and at that price ill fall right in there trap of getting a new phone so no thanks.

I believe that there are screen replacement services on line -- i would just do some research and find someone who will sell you the screen, replace it, and guarantee it (last one is key). As I understand it Apple now has the screen replacement equipment right at the store, so it might be cheaper than $200. A warantee is key, though, because you'll feel like fool if you pay to replace the screen and have it brake again in a couple of months.

Or you could upgrade to a 3gs. Just saying...

a co-worker got a screen cheap on ebay, changed it himself at home, and all was well and he saved a lot of money. plus, once he saw how easy it was he started charging to do it for people around town. seriously. i don't know if you'll have problems, but he didn't at all

Does anyone know about replacing the headphone jack? I've tried looking for tutorials before, without luck. Thanks.

I heard it was $150 and they do it right in the store in about 10 min. Not sure on the cost though but am 100% sure about the time. A family member had a bad screen and it was replaced under warranty in 10 min at the Apple store.
