Hopefully, but they didn't even announce a price for the 3DS yet. 200 seems the right price for me (although 150 would be even nicer :-D), but I wouldn't be surprised if it launched at a higher price. The DS XL just came out for 189.99 and I'm guessing that there will be a significant price differentiation between the two.

Yeah the original was 10x better than the sequel... the sequel looked like a joke, practically deleting all the fun parts out of ToS 1.
All Nintendo systems lack proper RPGs, which makes games like ToS stand out. As of this moment ToS, maybe Tales of Grace, and Arc Rise Fantasia are like the only good offline RPGs for Wii, and Monster Hunter Tri for online. Why doesn't the big titles ever come out for Nintendo systems?? We're always stuck with stuff like Mario, Sonic, or ports from systems a generation behind... ugh. Oo

    Doing nothing of importance.
    Somewhere
Actually, the SNES had plenty of good RPG's. Plenty of Final Fantasy games, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana, Zelda: Link to the Past, and I'm sure there's plenty more. That and the PSX/PS2 are the systems to have if you're into RPG's.

As far as modern consoles go, Nintendo has almost no RPG's, and the Wii, as far as I can think of, has absolutely none. The only two good ones for the Gamecube I can think of right now off the top of my head are Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Tales of Symphonia (which, admittedly, I've never played but always wanted to play).

I like how they went back to the N64 art style ( I never played Super Paper Mario so if it was the same there, correct me) because, personally, I thought the Gamecube version looked pretty weird.

Wha......the Wii was 250 bucks at launch, and that's a pretty awful system. At launch, XBox 360 was what? 200, maybe 300 bucks? And it's only a million times better than the Wii

So now imagine. The first portable console to have legit 3D without the glasses. Hell, it's the first CONSOLE to do that. No wait, it's the first console to EVEN HAVE 3D, glasses or no glasses! Tack on the new analog stick that everyone is forgetting about, and all the nifty new features, and we're probably looking at roughly 300 bucks. Honestly-I don't think that's an unfair price for such an incredible device. Especially when the games are not overpriced ($30 for a top game)

It looks just like Super Paper Mario, but SPM was incredibly easy and repetitive... not a good combo. I hope this one is better 'cause come on, it's Mario! It's supposed to be good.

It's not about what it's worth as much as it's how much people are willing to pay for it. If you have the option between a handheld console from Nintendo, or a home console from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony that also costs $300 or less, what's the logic in that? Sure the console may be the first with 3D, and has a great line-up (that the average consumer really doesn't know about), but it doesn't make fiscal sense.

I'm thinking they're not gonna go too far over the price of the PSP. Sony ruffled a lot of feathers by making the Go so expensive, Nintendo probably want to stay on the cheap side to ensure they're still regarded as the reasonable ones who provide value for money.

Even if Nintendo could charge more just for having better tech, I'm not totally sure they'll want to. Is the 3DS totally replacing the DSi? It's got backward compatibility so I don't see why not... if it is then they'll want to keep the price around the same. Even if they don't I think Nintendo can see that part of the DS's success is it's decent price tag, they probably wouldn't mind taking a bit of a hit if it means breaking sales records again.

Hasn't Nintendo done that in the past? Someone kept trying to tell me that Nintendo was losing money when selling the Wii and relied on the price of their games to bring revenue back up when it first launched.
