Yeah it'd would be way nice. I am very sure everyone is having this problem. I suggest each person submit a ticket about this. It may seem silly as I know they are aware of the issue (as that was stated in a reply to the ticket I submitted) but perhaps it can increase their priority in fixing it when they have 100s or 1000s of people reporting it. I really do wish they'd fix it. It's actually fun to checkout each brony's ponyville but I get really frustrated when the connection fails (and it has nothing to do with my wifi)
Okay, so I just did a full test of the add friend social feature. I installed MLP to my iPhone and created a second GL account (Skolvikings2). I used this new account to add my main account (Skolvikings) as a friend. Then I accepted the friend request from my main account using my iPad. After that, absolutely nothing happened. Both accounts showed the other was a friend inside the GL Live area of the game, but in the Social area, my new account still showed me as "invited." So just to try something, on my iPhone I force quit the MLP game. When I relaunched it and checked the Social area, sonic rain boom, there was my main listed and ready to send gifts to! My second account still didn't show up for my main on my iPad, so I force quit the game there too, relaunched and checked the Social tab. Yep, you guessed it, my new account showed up as a friend there too! So maybe... just maybe... force quitting the game causes it to sync new friends. It's easy enough to try and completely harmless, so maybe everypony should try it and see if it helps. Here's instructions for how to force quit apps if you don't know how. These instructions apply for iPhones, iPads, and iPods equally. 1. Double click the home button to reveal the row of apps below the dock 2. Slide the apps from side to side to find the My Little Pony app. 3. When you find it, tap and hold the app until a red badge with a line through it appears. The apps will also wiggle like they do when you're rearranging them. 4. When the red badge appears, tap it to force quit the app and any background processes it might be running. 5. When you're force quit the My Little Pony app, click the home button again to return to using your device. 6. Relaunch the My Little Pony app and check the Social area. In some cases, you may be prompted to relogin to GL Live, so don't worry if this happens to you. Just enter your credentials and you'll be good to go.
Closing the app out that way doesn't work for me... I have like 150+ GL live friends and only 40 of them are showing. I have to do those restart procedures after visiting towns because paths from other towns show on my map.
I think both sides have to force quit. Like you, I've force quit the game on my iPad many times and I still have a bunch of "invited" friends. But clearly in my testing, once the person who did the original inviting force quit, the friendship showed up in the game for them. Then when I force quit from the other account, they both saw the friendship in-game. This could be wrong, but here's the order that worked in my testing: 1. Person A sends friend invite. 2. Person B accepts invite. 3. Person A force quits game. 4. Person B force quits game.
Oh! That's why I see strange paths occasionally! Good catch. Anyhoo... if anyone is interested, I wanted to know exactly how much it helped to have multiple ponies in one shop and, how much the third pony added to each. I did some searching and no one else had already done this... so I ran some numbers and came up with the following information that I thought some people might be interested in. Obviously I don't have all the shops yet so I can't give all the values. Once I get them I'll keep this up to date, but it's likely that the later shops fall in line with the current trend of "wait longer, but less $/hr". If you have time, put 3 ponies in the Windmill, Cherry Stand, and Lemon Stand, put it on the first item, and click it every time they are ready. Put one pony in the rest of the shops and just select the first item and of course click on them every time they are ready. If you're not going to be able to play that much, then you're better off putting more ponies into the later shops and letting them run for longer times so when you do get to 'harvest', you get more money. If you click the windmill every min when it's ready, you would be making more money per hour than the first item in all last 9 shops on my list COMBINED.
True, it may be how I was able to link my two accounts. However, if we're both "force quitting" the game, you should be on my friends lists but I haven't seen you on my list yet (otherwise I'd totally be helping you out). And I'm playing every few hours. I'm probably "force quitting" the app like 10 or more time throughout the day. (Especially because the dirt path thing drives me nuts! ) It does help though. I suggest adding to that connecting to your Facebook account (if you have one). I have seen that after I go through getting it to connect and after it has done a search for everyone on Facebook if I go back to my friends list someone new is added (sometimes). It's worth doing both. It doesn't take much time out of your play time.

In addition to what Kuipo said: I have also seen that if you have a free floating pony you can rotate them to a shop just before it finishes its item and if they are the third pony you still rake in all the plus bits! Doesn't matter if they were added 5 second before the item is finished it will still give you the bonus. (It does get old moving a pony around so frequently though lol) GL ID: xpink_rabbitx (add me! )
