i was using my ipod touch to play music overnight on my speaker. when i woke up the next morning i plugged in my ipod to charge and it turned off. i charged it, but in return it got very very hot. it hasn't turned on since. its a 3.1.2, and i really want to save it. Please help.
I read in the news that a lot of Japanese IPT/iP have had this problem. So if you're from there, you're not alone! If your not from Japan, you could have one from their batch somehow!
it burns everytime i charge it. and no mine isn't from jap. it's from china. it's worked breat till now, but...
Is there anything different from your usual charging? New cable, different computer, different wall socket or location, etc.?
the heat is like an oven when it's cooking. and i did change my charging method. i used a third party wall charger. it work for 3 days before killing my ipod touch. the heat is not like it is when normally charging.
Yeah, it's acually normal. Then there's times where it's really hot, to keep it cool, just close any applications if they're running on the background, take off your case, unplug it, and leave it alone for a few minutes, should be fine later. I had the same problem awhile back, twice lol http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=605616 (here's a little info that can help you out)
That charger might be the culprit then. So your iPod is dead now? Sorry, mate. Next time stay clear of third party chargers. Some are fine but there are a few that are dodgy. Apple made a mention of this before. It's better to be safe than sorry. Getting cheap cases and accessories is fine but in charging you're dealing with electricity so I'd just feel the pain (price) and buy the Apple ones.
