I read in the news that a lot of Japanese IPT/iP have had this problem. So if you're from there, you're not alone! If your not from Japan, you could have one from their batch somehow!

Is there anything different from your usual charging? New cable, different computer, different wall socket or location, etc.?

You just need to re-calibrate your battery.

Battery calibration only affects the battery icon on the UI...

what do you mean by "Very very hot"? Your ipod is supposed to get warm when charging.

the heat is like an oven when it's cooking. and i did change my charging method. i used a third party wall charger. it work for 3 days before killing my ipod touch. the heat is not like it is when normally charging.

Yeah, it's acually normal. Then there's times where it's really hot, to keep it cool, just close any applications if they're running on the background, take off your case, unplug it, and leave it alone for a few minutes, should be fine later.

I had the same problem awhile back, twice lol

That charger might be the culprit then. So your iPod is dead now? Sorry, mate. Next time stay clear of third party chargers. Some are fine but there are a few that are dodgy. Apple made a mention of this before. It's better to be safe than sorry. Getting cheap cases and accessories is fine but in charging you're dealing with electricity so I'd just feel the pain (price) and buy the Apple ones.
