Those default folder icons look a hell of a lot better than the god-awful categoriesSB ones, and the previews seem like a useful addition (can categoriesSB even do anything like that?).
The CategoriesSB ones are only default placeholders, you can make your own with any theme app so... you could create a preview with a little Photoshop time, or y'know, something better.
http://thenextweb.com/apple/2010/06/08/dont-have-an-iphone-developer-account-download-the-gold-master-of-ios4-anyway/ coulple quick questions if I install iOS4 this way: Is it illegal - will I ruin my account if I do this? Will I lose all my music and app data?
Oooooooooooooooh. Nice find. I hope it's legal... Edit: I have windows do you think this would work when 9.2 comes to windows or should I just buy it?
I'd call it a grey area, that specific build isn't supposed to be public, but the updates are free anyway so... yeah. Apple would probably say it's not supported and might blow up your house but I wouldn't feel guilty about downloading it.
well, the directions say you have to restore your device, so yes, you will lose all your data like your saved progress in games
cool thanks - I think I am going to wait then, do you know if it will lose that stuff when the official update comes out?
Bah. I don't use my Mac for syncing or iTunes. Guess I'll just have to wait 'til June 21st like everyone else.
Yay, clash of the nubs! iOS4 is Firmware 4.0 for the iPod Touch/iPhone. This free update is not provided for the first gen. This will work on any system your computer is in (it doesn't really matter).
