Well I started school last semester for video production and I had to make a music video for one of my projects, this is my first shot (no pun intended) at film and I was actually pretty happy with the end result (we didn't take it TOO seriously). Anyways I shot this using my Sony HD Cam and edited it through Vegas. I know it's amateur and it was made in a short afternoon with my buddy who also wrote the song, but I like making videos and posting them, I hope you like watching! also any criticisms is fine, I have thick skin - Enjoy!
That was f*cking awesome dude, especially for a first video man. The camera quality was superb, and the shots you took were not bad either. The song wasn't bad, not something I would listen to on a regular basis but yeah. I guess the only nit-picky part I would have to complain about is around 3:25ish when the video to song mouth syncing was off. He was lookin like he was singing something but alas, no words were sung! lol Glad you put before hand that you guys didn't take this seriously, because that outfit he has going on is absolutely hilariously awesome. For a first time, the shots, the video quality, the music, everything was pretty damn good dude. Congrats!
Cool thanks Booch! LoL, yea I didn't have any shots of him singing the very end... So.... LoL Glad you liked it, my buddy has literally 100's of songs, and he now wants to make a video for every single one LoL!!! It was fun making it. It's cool though I finally found something I want to do in school (took me 8 years), it's a blast and even the hard parts like editing I still have fun doing it! and yes I asked him what the most ridiculous outfit was that he had and he walked out wearing that AWESOME suit! LoL
Great work, the filming in particular was very good. Your friend should meet up with the sexy sax man and go with him on some pranking sessions.
Roflmao! That would be so epic I don't know if a camera could contain that much awesomeness! Seriously though you guys are WAY too kind! Thanks so much!!!
Awesome job. Kinda crunched for time, so didn't see the entire video, but what I did see looked professional and well-thought. I'll have to see the rest when I catch the time.
Glad you put before hand that you guys didn't take this seriously, because that outfit he has going on is absolutely hilariously awesome. For a first time, the shots, the video quality, the music, everything was pretty damn good dude. Congrats!
That's awesome man! Glad you found a passion in life. Soon I want to go to school for music programming and business. I one day hope to own a small recording business of my own. It's absolutely no where near taking off, for the only thing i have are the skills in Pro Tools and a little bit of gear, but yeah it's awesome editing and stuff. You know it's meant to be when even the most hardest and annoying things to do with the things you love are fun LOL. Maybe in a few years if I make it, we can hire you to do video shoots!!! =D
Got to see the entire thing, and all I gotta say is your friend needs to work on his lip-syncing skills. Other than that it looked pretty good. I noticed a couple spots where the camera shook a little while panning, but hey, that's unavoidable sometimes. Great job otherwise.
Yea my buddy was more concerned with the guitar playing than the singing, i told him repeatedly that the singing is what matters, the average person wont know if he's strumming the wrong chords... Its actually much harder to direct someone than i expected.... as for the jerkyness it was not intentional and should have left them out but thats what i get for my $2 garage sale tripod lol... thanks for the feedback errbody!
Got another project I made this weekend I would like to share, didn't think I should make a new thread for it so I'll just put it here. The assignment was to make any 1 min to 1:30 second commercial. I decided to go the comedy route and got one of my buddies to act in it for me. This is just a rough cut for now, I actually have a LOT more work to do but wanted to get some feedback on it as is. Currently I'll be editing out the intro heavily to cut down on some silence and time, some color correction, better background sound effects etc.. Anyways hope you guys like! 1 minute version
It would take some balls to be in a commercial like that. I like the concept. I think you're in a good spot for how you want the editing to go. Good job!
My buddy actually volunteered before he knew what he was getting himself into but he did an amazing job IMO. I have still have to cut 30 seconds off of this piece so it should come out much tighter. Glad you guys watched, Thanks!
My newest music video So I finally got a new camera for christmas and last night after a few drinks me and a buddy decided to cut a music video off one of his new songs he wrote. I cut this together from 4 seperate takes so while it looks basic it was actually pretty hard matching up his vocals to the video. Anyways hope you guys like it!
