may not be the first to do it, but i still think not many has done this entirely on ipad, mine is an instrumental music album centered on the topic of food ... done with only garageband on ipad and no external stuff here is the link to hear the music http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ianlow3 http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/silverfish/id447399662
The Gorrilaz also did this recently, everything down to the cover art (which usually costs £250,000 alone) was all done on iPad. Well done to you, too!
Cool. I'm finding that I spend more and more time making music solely on my iPhone... Thousands of dollars of synths/etc. sitting upstairs in our work/study room left unused because I simply don't have the time to spend up there. Take Nano Studio on my iPhone (and sometimes in my Synthstation25) I can spend lunch/break working on something for a few minutes. Which reminds me, I've got music due for Pitman that I need to shorten a bit and resubmit...
i never got into iphone and nano studio .. thought it was just too cramped to work on, but i hear a lot of good stuff about it from lots of folks ... but on the ipad, GB works like a dream ... still some weird bugs do exist though for those who intend to use it ... and i guess there's quite a lot i think in the coming months, we are gonna see more of ipad garageband material
I use the gnarly drum machine and synths (when needed) all on Beatmaker 2 for the iPod and then plug into ProTools on my computer then lay over some guitars and bass. It works for me. Congrats on making a full album man!
congrats on the release - sounds good, the music industry is super inflated - those costs are grossly over-estimated, and in most cases the money spent on the album is more going to marketing and business deals as opposed to actually being spent on the production of the album. You can build a decent studio for under $5000 that will output professional quality music/sound as long as you take the time to learn the programs and have the creative drive to put the time in. As for making music with the iPad - it is cool that they are starting to intergrate this stuff, but it is still a ways off from being useful for all types of music production.
Sounds great, just a little disappointed that it's solely an instrumental. I'll never hear lyrics to accompany "Croissant".
Haha, my apologies, i wrote this pretty much as all instrumentals and never had any intention to make it a vocal song. i will try my best to do some similar sounding tracks with vocals in the future.
Thanks, I do like Abalone a lot ... wanted to convey a sense of Oriental balladry and a touch of romantic longing
here are some of the remixes i have done for some of the music http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=166365 http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=166366 http://www.icompositions.com/music/song.php?sid=166367
