After excessive home clicks, home button is working and and after sucking the bottom dry the dock connector charges with my wall charger. But the speaker is very very muffled. I been holding upright to keep the juice at the bottom and sucking to get out what I can. What else can I do to help it??? Will is sound better once dried up?? It sat there probably 15-20 seconds.

At first the speaker sounded muffled. So I loaded up tap tap revenge, to play a song I have been hearing a lot lately to judge the extent of the audio distortion. During the song it went from muffled to seemingly normal. So I calmed down, stood my phone upright between two stacks of DVDs to dry, and put the kids to bed early (7PM lol, but too pissed to deal with them) then I came back out and grabbed my iPhone and a pop said "this product is not endorsed by apple. Would you like to turn on airplane mode to prevent sound distortion?"... I guess top ramen is not supported by apple, and should only be applied to your phone while in airplane mode. I clicked the home button an power to get a screen shot but instead it went to the iPod app. I hit play but nothing would play, nor would the track scrubber show up. So I guess it thought it was hooked up to an ihome or something. I plugged in headphone and could hear through them fine, then took them out and restatyed my music and it sounded fine through the speaker. Since then no weird popups or anything but once I put the music back off, my keyboard clicks sound quite.. Could just be me though. Only time will tell how bad this experience was.

Just as I finished typing that I got the popup again... This sucks. Do you think I will be forever stuck with this?? It is probably a problem with the dock connector? Please help. I am near heart broken over my phone.

You should have just waited a night to use it again. I'm not sure, but I don't think it'll get much better.

    Was the Ramen ok?

It's because it's Top Ramen and not Maruchan. Their ramen is much better.

As for the solution, It's not gonna get any better. And apple will give its water damage excuse. Strange, because it isn't water, it's Ramen. huh.

just put it in a bag of uncook rice it'll suck it up way faster and also place it next to a fan so it could go faster but leave it over night. It should suck all of it up

Well it was on when it was put in the ramen. And the damage to the Raman was minimal. Should it leave it off for the night? As I mention speaker was initially worry. And at this moment it seems fine. But 3 times I got popups about "this device not supported by apple".. The same on you get when you plug in 3rd party addons such as speaker boxes, chargers, fm transmitters, and tv out chords. I took some paper and wiped the circut board material that's inside the dock and used a needle to pic off some ramen from the area around. Last 5-7 minutes no popup.

@skate: actualy, it was Maruchan. I just have a habbit of calling all dried noodle produce top ramen. :p

And I am going to try the rice thing.. Assuming I have some here. The wife made Spanish rice last night so hopefully she didn't use it all.

What I heard works is if you get a container bigger than your iPhone. Then fill the container with enough rice so that it completely immerses your iPhone. Cover the dock with a piece of tape and pop it in there, leaving it upright in the rice over night.

The rice is said to suck the liquid away from the iPod. I've heard a lot of good things about this technique, but it was with water, not ramen juices... should work tho... same basic principles by my reckoning.

    Hope it helps.

EDIT: And see? This is what I get when I don't read the thread :p

If that doesn't work, put it in an airtight sealed container with some of those silicon ball packets that come in shoes and other electronics... If you don't have any at your dispense, just go to K-Mart or Wallmart and fish some out of the shoe boxes ;)

And if that doesn't work, you could go the old fashioned way and set it in front of a fan.

There, NOW I have contributed :p

Yeah, I was just checking around on some sites, and it appears everyone suggests placing your iPhone in rice, and apparently if that doesn't work, wrapping it in a completly dry towel.

    Good luck!

Damn I have no more rice left. :( and my wife doesn't get off work in time for me to go get some. But it's been buisness as normal for 20 or so minutes. So hopefully I am in the Safe. I think I'm still google to wrap in a towel for a while. Thank you for everyones helpful advice. In a strange way, I want to take my phone for a swim and throw it in some rice just to see if it works. :p (but I won't)

Well I guess my question is: After putting the iPhone in a container of rice, how long are you supposed to cook it and at what temperature? Should sliced carrots be added, or does it not matter?

Actually, rice is cooked using a rice cooker, so temperature does not matter. And no, sliced carrots should not be added, but instead, celery should be added.

Ramen is instant noodles. Basically my phone was dipped in soup. I did the rice trick over night using ricearoni and my phone seems perfect now!

    RAMEN IS NOT INSTANT NOODLES!!!

ramen can be the most delicious bowl of soup you've ever had. DO NOT compare top ramen, maruchan, etc.. to actual japanese ramen, until you have actually had a real bowl of ramen you really wouldn't know how good it is.
