I'll eat mayo on burgers too but just don't see it mixing well with fries... I will have to try one of these days when no one is looking :)

I hear you on the heavy breakfast for sure. I'm not usually much of a breakfast eater but if I do have some, I try to have something light or healthy otherwise I feel sluggish through the day. The only time I like waffles or pancakes with syrup is actually really late in the evening as like a midnight snack. There are lots of 24 hour diners that serve breakfast and usually after a night of drinking I'll indulge in some waffles with syrup, bacon and coffee. I love eating American breakfast food at night!

    Edit:

I agree. Cereal, fruit and/or juice, oatmeal, yogurt, light omelette, etc. This is the only breakfast type food I will eat in the morning.

If I had to choose, I'd pick Mayonnaise. But I prefer salad spread.

lol :) I have always gotten the worst Christmas presents ever, while growing up... I always got clothes that I didn't like or just plain stuff I never liked... I never really looked forward to Christmas presents because my parents (bless their oblivious hearts) just never were close to what I was into.

For this Christmas I got some clothes I'll never wear (still have tags on clothes from Christmas's 7-8 years ago- seriously), the exact, and I mean exact same toaster that I already own... and a waffle maker lol.. The only drag of growing up, making some money, and buying your own stuff, is that most parents will never get Christmas gifts right again lol. I'm seriously either re-gifting the toaster or will see what I can get for it on Craig's List.

You mean you actually like Waffle House? That place is like the retarded cousin of breakfast joints.

I've tried dipping my fries in mayo, it's quite good. I could see why people do that. And every once in a while I like them with balsamic vinegar, that's damn good too. But the ultimate fry-dip has got to be a Wendy's chocolate frosty:

No, no, no. Waffle houses are where it's at! There is nothing better than waffles and fried chicken all covered in syrup. Yummy!! :d But I will admit that most Americans end up eating a really sugary breakfast, which might get you off to a quick start but you'll crash fast, and it's unhealthy. I'm not one to talk, I rarely eat breakfast and usually only have 1 meal a day anyway. My new year's resolution should totally be to eat better :/

Chocolate? You guys dip potato into chocolate? The whole mayo argument goes right out of the window with that!

Chocolate soft-serve, that is... Vanilla works just as well.

It's not that different from having a milkshake with your burger and fries. ;)

And before that gets written off as an American thing, some of the best milkshakes in town is at a proper fish n chips place, with proper fish (but mediocre chips... :|)

I think it has something to do with the mixture of sweet and salty, but it's just heaven. And the best truly is Wendy's, I've tried it with other fry/shake combos at other places and while it's alright nothing tops Wendy's for some reason. I'm going to take a stab and say that there's not even a Wendy's in the UK?

Nice, a man of refined taste. :p Between this and you posting Mr Show clips, you're becoming my hero of the forums. :D

That sweet & salty thing made this pop into my head: Salt & Vinegar chips. God, they're so freaking gross but after I eat one I...can't...stop...lol its the weirdest thing ever.

I think there used to be one near where I live, but it didn't seem like an American brand, and the food was typical English cafe stuff so either they adjusted it just to suit us or it wasn't related to the American Wendy's. It closed down a few years ago now and I haven't seen one since.

    Edit: according to Wikipedia:

    United Kingdom (c.1980 – 1986; 1992 – 2000; one store operated to 2007)

The one I knew must've disappeared in 2000.

Well Wendy's fries are awful so they need something to enhance them. Chocolate frosties work quite well.

And God said, "May each meal come with happiness, and a cheap toy secretly a marketing ploy from China." And it was done.

i had breakfast last night, it was awesome. I have a special way to make a skillet of breakfast:

    First you need:

    some eggs
    some uncured bacon
    bread for toast

Get a small skillet, maybe a 8" one. Throw about a teaspoon of butter in there, fire it up on medium-low. Start toasting your bread. Get the butter to melt, move the pan around to coat it with the fat ( butter ). Take your bacon and either put it on one side of the skillet or layer it around the edge of the pan. Then take your eggs and crack them either on the other side of the bacon or in the middle if you did the round the skillet thing. Should be sizzling pretty good by now, once the bottoms of the eggs turn white get about 1oz of water and a lid for your pan. You may notice that the whites are still runny around the yolk, that's ok, it's time for my trick. Get your toast ( it's done by now, didn't you know? ) and either throw it on top of everything or stick it on the side in some empty space if you have some ( if you do the second way some of the butter gets absorbed into the bread so you don't need to butter it ). Throw the water into your skillet and cover it up. Wait about 1 minute and uncover. Not only will you have perfectly cooked whites with the buttery flavour on the bottom but you will have perfectly runny yolks for your bread and bacon.

You might have to experiment with temperatures, water, time to leave it covered, but in the end you get a breakfast that tastes great, with no salt ( unless you used salty butter eww! )

One thing to note, my bacon is never crispy like most people like it, instead it's nice and juicy and melts in your mouth. So if you like crispy bacon, don't even bother with this trick unless you want to do just the eggs.

Another thing you can do to get an awesome egg is to get a round mold ( used in kitchens to cut circles in dough, etc.. rub butter all over the inside so you have a very light layer for lubrication. Put that in the center of your pan and turn on the heat. Put a dab of fat in the middle of the circle and once it's up to temp throw your egg in there. Once the whites have cooked about 75% ( so that they look white ) and you still have some runny whites on the top get some water, pour it OUTSIDE of the mold and cover. Cook for about 1 min and that top part will be cooked, This preserves the runniness of the egg and molds your egg into a nice circle for presentation. Alternatively this can be done with a piece of japanese or texas toast but I wouldn't reccomend the water part.

yeah so i love breakfast, ask anyone that knows me, I'll eat this shit day and night, if they let me I'd have it for breakfast lunch and dinner. In fact, I'm going to go make myself some breakfast right now!
