may I know if this would scale and play nicely on the iPad ? Could anyone who has an iPad in tow test it out for me?..

Keen on supporting the cause, but unsure if it'll play nicely 2x mode on the iPad.

I don't have an iPhone or iTouch, you see..

I personally love Dodonpachi. i like the fact thats theres different different soundtrack for the Original and iphone modes. While Esp II has an iphone and original mode too, i think the iphone mode on Dodonpachi is much better than on Esp. but if its your first brush with Bullet-hell, you should go with Esp and then switch to Dodonpachi. Quick Review:

    ESP II:
Iphone - Good for first time bullet hell players.
Arcade - Scoring system is quite complex compared to DDP:R

    DDPR:
Iphone - Better of the two. Really fun to play and master.
Arcade - While the scoring mechanism is easy to understand, its much harder to implement.

And i feel DDPR has slightly more content(History Section, Practice mode).

Both are great shooters. It doesn't matter which you buy, You'll end up buying the other soon enough anyway ;) Hope this helps.

Awesome game, best 0.99 I've spent on the store, but I can't find the bug battle multiplayer option, I guess I have to finish the story first

It is true that all sales from Bug Panic go to the relief effort.

This is a really awesome game. I really love the multiplayer whenever I can get a match going only 3 victories so far lol

This game looks rather odd to me o_O

So is it a dual stick shooter or something completely different?

It is and it isn't a DSS, its more of a combo of DSS, bullet hell, and adventure game. It really is something different but the same. I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I am only playing single player at the moment. Trying to beat all 4 worlds and save all the kabutans at the same time. After that I will be dedicating a lot of time to the multiplayer. Which is really fun too. Its a tug o war of who can defend and send more baddies. :D

To me, its something completely different, that happens to share "dual sticks" controls (kinda). The movement stick is like normal dual stick shooters movement. The "shooting" stick is more of a lock on enemies (up to 3 if you use the lock on method), then let go to "throw" bombs at them. If you use the direct method, you just "swipe" the shooting "stick" each time in the direction you want to shoot at the enemies. Maybe as a very bad analogy would be like how Super Mario Brothers & Metroid shares some of the same controls (dpad to move & buttons to jump & shoot), but they're different type of games (while sharing some things).

To me, the game is much more "strategic" than typical mindless dual stick shooters (I still like these too) if you want to keep up the combo meter and picking whether or not to charge up the bombs. There's also the "bullet hell" avoidance in this game. Even though the game is more "strategic" to me, its still a intense game cause you have to juggle so many more things at once.

Try out the lite version for a while to see if your into it. The first time I tried the original, shorter lite version, I didn't like it as much. But playing the "endless" in the updated lite version, I was hooked. No regret on the purchase at all for me.

This is off topic, but that paragraph is EXACTLY how I felt about Age of Zombies. (Although I did like the story mode in the full game.)

For some on-topicness, I tried the lite version an hour ago, as I'd seen the game before and was (slightly) intrigued by it. I didn't bother checking on it, though, as I had other obligations and I soon forgot about it. Refound it today, and just in time! (last day of the sale!) Look forward to playing it, but alas, I have other obligations... (I hate you, homework.)
