No offence taken, just didn't want ppl thinking I support this obvious tactic to remove a more popular competitor, see how much confusion this is creating? the more I look into both games the more things are getting ridiculous, now I know that both were released around the same time on PC (i'm not much of a small casual gamer on PC, I tend to go for big high end games like Crysis or classic adventure games) MumboJumbo need a freaking amazing explanation to all this crap if not it could be worse for them in the long run.

They say that now that PG is on top. If it ended up like Luxor and PD actually came out on top, they will cry, run and bitch to Apple just like mangled jungle. This is business, this is real life and money is everything.

PS. BTW, epic fail on the thread title. "resoponds"???

actually he said that very shortly after PD came out. But PG v. PD is not even a competition, and im sure Bolt realized that as soon as PD came out

I'm a bit disappointed. I didn't jump on the 1 star Luxor bandwagon because I thought that surely there would be some explanation for the complaint. The more time goes on and after that statement, I'm really starting to question mumbo jumbo. If what they're doing is true, it's completely despicable and they should be banned from releasing any more products on the app store. The thing that annoys me the most is actually that Stoneloops was released BEFORE Luxor, so direct code theft is out of the question. I want to know what's going on!

i actually did download the LITE version; while downloading, did a quick 1 star review on the LITE version; after LITE version downloaded, delete it. :D

lol, I even played through the Lite before giving it my 1 star rating, wow, so slow and awkward in gameplay compared to the smoothness of stoneloops

I wonder what made Mumbo Jumbo think that it was a good idea to issue the complaint in the first place. The fact is, Stoneloops is more popular (if we measure this in terms of number of downloads and ranking on the App Store). So obviously there will be many Stoneloops fans complaining if the game is taken down. How is all of this a good situation for Mumbo Jumbo? Are the sales lost due to Stoneloops really all that more important than their reputation?

i think it is preposterous to even suggest that stoneloops stole code from luxor, when luxor stole the control scheme used in stoneloops (and hide it as control type 2 in luxor).

stoneloops invented the perfect way to implement controls in this type of game on the iphone - slide finger to move, release finger to release ball.

stoneloops is also very different from luxor - "grab-n-shoot" mode, anyone?

Nah you're being prejudiced against mumbo jumbo. How else are you supposed to play a marble shooter? If your argument holds, all line draw games copied the first one.

how else? luxor does it by sliding with finger, release ball by tapping (auto-release when finger is lifted is stoneloops way, luxor implements this as an **alternative** control scheme so your statement is obviously flawed).

"as expressed in this thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=30406

I don't think the removal is something you can blame Apple about. When YouTube removes a video clip in response to a legal action, do you blame YouTube?"
    arn

"I have one thing to say to anybody who is actually blaming Apple for this: welcome to the world of the DMCA. It's not Apple's role to determine whether a copyright claim is valid or invalid. Once the claim is made, the law requires a content provider to remove the allegedly offending material from distribution. To do otherwise would get Apple involved in the copyright dispute and make it liable in any action MumboJumbo took against Codeminion."

They did. And that's okay: you can't copyright a control scheme, though I supposed you could try to get it patented (slim chance, though).

Yeh so why were you accusing them of copying Stoneloops' control scheme if the default is original?

So now that Stoneloops has used the *alternative* method nobody else is allowed to use it?

I honestly couldn't care less. I just want to know why Mumbo Jumbo decided to file a complaint.

oh, don't make it sound so humble. I seriously think that the creators of Tennis for Two should sue everyone else that STOLE their idea for making computer games with graphics. why not ;)

PS: I am aware that there were some computer games earlier, just Tennis for Two is the most well known game from this time

    Did they?

I was under the impression that they haven't told us anything. I don't see the irony because using the same control scheme is not stealing. It's just being reasonable. The iPhone doesn't exactly have many buttons...
