Noooo she isn't annoying at all, yeah she's over the top but she's ms splosion man, she's an unstable firecracker girl with ADHD... Her body even looks like a science experiment gone wrong just like splosion man. I can understand the action being a bit hard to follow on smaller screens, after all it was originally a console game and it can be tough to follow even on my iPad... Maybe that's where the control issues are coming from too, no such problems on my iPad. The main reason why the original splosion man was so good on Xbla was because of the tight controls, it's generally pretty good, no hardware buttons don't help but that's not really the games fault
I only agree with one small thing and it carries over from the Xbox version... The red splosion man is ten times easier to see than the pink one.
How do you mean "any"? In the last level for example I beat 2/3 of the Wannabe goals. That got be 0 coins. Do I have to beat a full set of goals?
Just make sure to beat all three Wannabe goals, it may take you two times to beat the Wannabe ghost, but it's really not hard! I just passed World one and I have 620 coins
I know this is a non-issue for most people and I'm a weirdo but beating everything once is enough for me. Never been a huge fan of getting "three stars" by replaying stages in any game really. Telling me I've gotta do that or pay more money...well I'm probably gonna end up doing neither to be honest.
I find it hard to see even on my iPad 2. It's playable for sure, but I'm surprised how difficult it is to see what's going on. Also I'm not a fan of being locked out of the next level because I didn't earn enough coins. I'm with BoneyCork on that.
Yeah, game is starting to fall apart for me a bit now despite my initial enthusiasm. Character keeps getting lost in explosions and ghosts, and I constantly felt like the controls were letting me down in that zip line level. Only got a 16gb iPad too and kinda want the space back. Sorry Twisted Pixel!
Count me in the crowd who isn't happy about the whole coins thing, as well as the crowd who thinks it is too hard to lose where the character is at. Add another one to the list of overhyped TA best game EVAHS!
Just figured out how to get to 1-8 (yeah, I'm kinda slow...) But in doing so, the game has definitely opened up, and clicked with me a lot... WHOLE LOT more. =oP Kinda wish I could take back my vote for TT2 for GOTW...
I completed 1-7 yesterday and spotted a possible other route but didnt take it. Bought 1-9 to play but not done so yet. Must try 1-7 again to find 1-8
The satisfaction i get by completing a stage was never bigger then in this game ! Here is so much content and replay ability for the three bucks, simply a big WOW. The frustration comes fast i know, so it's unlucky that you have to beat the ghost right in the first mission to get (way more) coins. It takes quite some time and effort to achieve this, at least later on. I can't explain why i am so hooked with this game, since our heroine is so small and talks too much, and the frustration comes any second, but despite all this, it's easily my GOTW, and even of the month.
Yeah - all of the challenge comes from completing the level the first time through. Once you do that, running through a second time to get all of the objectives, or secondary objectives, is usually a piece of cake. It's not too often we're given a platformer that says - here's a switch, hit it, see what it does, and if you can react quick enough, you'll be able to progress. Instead of - here's what you need to do - take your time, look at it, figure out how to get past it, and easily do it. Once I got comfortable staring at the constant explosions and actually focusing on where exactly my character was, it became a LOT easier (not easier gameplay wise, just easier knowing where she was). Now, I don't even worry about it, because I just know where the ms's is... I don't have to worry about focusing hard on where she might be in the explosion animations. The game has loads of challenge, a great difficulty level, awesome controls (after getting more acquainted with the swipe down/tap/don't touch the directional arrows to straighten out mechanics - they're freak'n spot on), wonderful level design... superb graphics - I really can't praise this one enough. It's up there with Mikey Shorts, Crazy Hedgy, Cordy 2, Mutant Mudds, Penumbear and Bean's Quest as one of my favorite iOS platformers... great, great stuff!
Just unlocked world 3 and died 475 times really awesome game and I didn't have any issues with the tokens the game doesn't require grinding at all try to finish the first 3 objectives.
CONGRATULATIONS! Ms. Splosion Man has been nominated, alongside 9 other games in the TouchArcade Forums [thread=183770]Game of the Week![/thread] What's your favorite? Who will win? [thread=183770]VOTE NOW[/thread]! (as a reminder, developers are not allowed to vote if their game is in the poll)
Yeah I agree with most, even playing on an older device... This game is fantastic, ingenious mechanics (splode to jump), lost of scenes, boss fights and all. Best platformer for iOS I believe. Unlocking all levels with coins is not that bad. Replayed level 1 three times and have more than enought to buy the first world. I never been given 100 coins at the same time, only 40 and 60 at a time, and I do all those objectives (for example: Dance for 2 seconds, Splode 4 scientists), so I have to do something wrong... But even with that I have like 1200 coins. No IAP necessary. Here
I have been getting 100 coins every level so far. You probably aren't beating the levels fast enough. I can't get past the zip line level because whenever I tap it thinks I'm swiping down and when I swipe down it thinks I'm tapping it... Anyone else with this problem?
