Universal Ms. Splosion Man (by Twisted Pixel/Microsoft Corporation)

Discussion in 'iPhone and iPad Games' started by Shan82, Mar 28, 2013.

  1. I don't think I can load it since icade core games are priority for me, until Real Racing 3 icloud comes in about one month. So if there is no icloud for this game, probably better to wait for the RR3 update, and see whether a sale happens or not. Can't delete RR3 yet cause I wanna save my coins.

But great looking game. Normally if I still wasn't so busy with icade now, I would buy this is a heartbeat. Maybe I still will, but would have to delete NFS Most Wanted. Hmmm, what to do.

Use iFunbox or a similar app to save the Documents folder of your games before deleting them. This way you can restore your save data even if the game isn't iCloud-enabled. No jailbreak is needed since Apple only blocked the .app folder of each app from being edited.

Lack of coins for world 2? Unless you are skipping tons of levels and buying tons of power ups, you should have had WAY WAY more coins than needed. I get an average of 140 coins per level. 140 times 8 levels is (using the first world first section with the hypothetical goal of unlocking world one part two) is 1120 and that is without replaying a single level once. It only costs 750 to unlock a section. So without even replaying a level for bonus coins... Which isn't a big deal if you are down by a little for some unknown reason.. You can definitely still afford it. I swear TA is turning into a place where everyone turns every little thing into a humongous issue.

I think you'd be fine not looking. The left and right are in the tiny little corner and that's all. It supports video airplay as well so I would think it would be fine.

Is buying levels with virtual money that much of an issue?
Most of the early tasks involve blowing up one object or dancing for one second so earning coins isn't hard.
You might need to go back and beat a few ghosts but there's the challenge, I mean you have unlimited lives and fumbling through the levels slowly kinda goes against the fluidity of how the levels are designed and intended to be played.

The main gripes I'm reading are install size - want the game to be shorted and audio to be down sampled or cut down in variety?

IAPs - just avoid them, they aren't required at all.

Coins needed to progress - as I said above, just play the game at a semi competent level and read the list of goals.

    This game is awesome!!

Because when downloading off the Internet, you have to have more than double..... in fact i have noticed sometimes it takes almost 3 times the space.......the required space to actually install it. If you install it from iTunes on the computer you only need the same amount it takes up.

I am probably in the minority here, but I hate this game. While I recognize it's technical excellence, I find it frustrating and do not like how tiny the character is at times with the camera pulled so far back. Also, I find the main character to be incredibly annoying. Just shut up already! Deleted.

I feel quite the opposite. With most games having the hero say absolutely nothing, our constantly high heroine is a welcome change. I find her hilarious, in fact the while experience challenging and funny. It doesn't hurt that it looks amazing as well. LOVE this game because it's fresh. Also, the short film of a tutorial was worth the $3 all by itself. I actually bought the game directly after the Debbie heroin line. Was not expecting that :)

I might be with you here, I'm not really sure yet, I'm gonna give it more time, but it is frustrating. I find the controls difficult and some scenes you can't even tell what's going on cause its too hectic. Seems like mostly a level memorization game.

The one thing I do find funny is all the negative reviews about unlocking the levels. Do most games start out by letting you play all the levels right off the bat? This seems no different to me...

How do I beat the first boss? He catches up too quickly for the controls.

Level 1-5 has driven me to drop my rating from 5 to 4. The reason is that a lot of the time the game is misinterpreting my jump as a swipe down, causing me to fall off the zip lines. So between my dying because I failed to jump in time or swipe down in time and the game misinterpreting has led to an incredibly frustrating afair.

Seems far to sensitive for my big thumb and long nail :/

    Devs ?

The only negativ thing i can say would be, that i cannot read the
loading screens, way to fast. Take them out or give us the choice
to skip ourselves, possible ? Some i can read, and if they are true
facts, then i really would like to read them in peace 'cos they're funny.

Anything else makes this game gonna stay for a very, very long time
    on my device.
Easily my game of the week !

Tapping to start a level after a loading screen I'd understand, but seriously? Go through the effort of taking out the text because you can't read them?

I know exactly where you are talking about. After a checkpoint and you need to splode to hit the bomb drop switch? It was happening to me, and it started to bother me, but sploding earlier than I thought I should worked with no problems. It was almost as if you crossed an invisible "no more sploding" line. It seamed almost like a control bug and I've ran across a very few other moments where controls had that lack of response. Very few and far between though and still just an incredible game! I'm not the biggest platformer fan but this is really great. The beard is watching you sleep!

The tips that are in between levels? Anyplace there is an archive of them? (in game or online even) Really funny to say the game loads too quickly is a problem, but... it loads too quickly to read them!

First level? Make sure you explode yourself on the switches that are in your path. They will give you a boost
