Well, no actually 6. I think you mean with 7th insomina, but he only wrote that one and didnt direct it. IMO that doesnt count. Its like true romance is for Quentin Tarantino.
Kinda expecting that from TR's trailers. Yeah, I'm still on the fence about Legacy, though... Kinda seems like a way to squeeze more money out of the Bourne franchise to me... Y'know, now that I come to think of it, I don't think I ever last the last two Bourne movies, lol!
The only movie left for me this year is Django Unchained. Hopes are high. Together with Copolla, Nolan and Leone, Tarantino is my favorite director. Those are just my big four, have seen everything from them. (expect The Prestige), as you might know.
I am honored I loved every Nolan movie I have seen, Inception is an exception to that, loved the climax though, Did not like the movie as they were splitting a strand of hair into a zillion.... splits!? (i'll go with that word) Bout the topic in Hand, The Prestige, its so good that I have stopped encouraging magicians but not attending their shows ever since & IMDb is where I reside if I am not in the iOS world Its a boon to movies goers who know how not to fall for the purchases from amazon If anyone loves Anthony Hopkins' acting skills & that awesome voice, 360 came out recently, reminds me the Hannibal series (which is still so awesome & is also available in Books) & fracture with Ryan Gosling, check these out PpL!
Disagree with you there. The movie was pretty awful. Departed from the tone of the book, loosing much of the dark, foreboding mood. The guy who played Peeta was just plain awful. They didn't follow the books very well on some major plot points. I would skip it. I was quite disappointed by the movie, stick with the books instead.
I went into the movie having read the books, so I was a little spoiled. Another thing I was annoyed by was the rating. I'm not clamoring for excessive, senseless violence, but the books were far more violent and dark than the film, and I don't believe the next movie or the sequel to that will be able to accurately convey the book without an R rating on subject material alone, younger kids and a lot of teens just won't understand what Katniss is going through, much less sympathize and appreciate it. You know what I mean if you've read the books. For a kids series (or is it young adult?) they can get pretty violent, and emotionally the last two can be very intense. The movie simply can't convey those things well in a PG-13. Edit: lol "far more violence" where did that come from?
I definitely agree with you there. Having gone into the movie not having read the books, so my perspective wasn't really shifted and I found it pretty entertaining and enjoyable. I have read the whole trilogy since and while as an adaptation the movie is ok at best, I am not really a fan of Katniss in the books. Not at all.
Sitting in the theater waiting for Total Recall to start. I'll let you guys know how it is when I get home.
Finished Total Recall a little bit ago, and Spoiler talk about a mind ****! Good movie. I'd give it a 7/10
how did you guys like total recall? I saw Battleship, nice popcorn flick, I think this year was not so good for "Vorginya" boxoffice-wise, but he was Good.
I was surprised to see the triple-breasted woman allowed in a PG-13 film, lol. I found the visuals and action scenes to be pretty cool. Always interesting seeing depictions of the future. Nothing amazing about the plot though. Wasn't as bad as the reviews made it out to be, but it's nothing too special either. Haven't seen the original. Really? I thought it was one of the most straightforward movies I've seen. Spoiler You just need to know that both his friend (the black guy) and his "wife" worked for the government. His friend wanted to keep him away from Rekall so he wouldn't get his memories back. Nothing happened when he tried going to Rekall with that blonde Asian guy. His friend told his wife that he was going to Rekall. His "wife" called the guards. Anyways, a happy ending for once, yay. Edit: In any case, I enjoyed it more than Prometheus xP.
Watched Paranormal Activity 2 on Netflix last night- had only seen the first one. Was hoping it would actually be scarier than the first, but it wasn't- just as boring and unscary as ever. Literally- the whole series is about people watching stuff move and scream at loud noises. As always, watching people Spoiler get pulled down the stairs by invisible demons is hilarious- dunno why, always crack up at those parts.
Total Recall ($125m budget) opened to just $26m, trailing behind TDKR, which was first again for the Box Office at $36.4m. Brutal summer for the BO.
