Well, if DC wants to make a Justice League movie, they'll have to reboot Batman sooner or later, no?

Theyll be rebooting sooner. Its already been announced that its rebooting. Nolan wont let anyone touch his story. He doesnt do sequels so he certainly wont let someone sequel his movie.

Also dont know why thats a spoiler........

The Box Office Blackout still isn't over. Pretty interested in seeing how well TDKR did this past weekend.

It supposedly had the third best domestic release despite the tragedy.

No they won't- it could be a separate continuity. They could just explain the origins of the Justice League, and throw the heroes in. What Marvel did with the Avengers was pretty ambitious. Also, don't really care for a Justice League movie- DC comics 'extended universe' seems a lot more tacky than Marvel's. The only DC properties I like are Batman, Watchmen, and V for Vendetta. They're going to have to do multiple reboots, with the terrible Green Lantern movie, and with how the new Superman movie looks to be. Nolan's involvement with Superman and Batman have gotten in the way of their plans- and probably made them more money, because really? Not going to pay to see a tacky looking movie. That's why I skipped The Green Lantern, and I skipped Thor. Green Lantern bombed- and I attribute that to how bad it looked and was.

Also, the President of DC Entertainment, Diane Nelson said, "We do have a very different attitude about how you build a content slate. And it isn't necessarily about connecting those properties together to build into a single thing. We think we've got great stories and characters that will lend themselves to great standalone experiences, and that's the way we're focusing on it." So it's probably not happening anytime soon.

They should move forward with Batman Beyond. I know a few people want I want it why not do it then? Rather than a reboot this makes more sense to me
Even with the ending to The Dark Knight Rises, Batman Beyond (no Terry though) could still lead with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the new future batman. He's for sure to become batman or nightwing...

Heard something about $162 million (third best, #1 non-3d) at the box office...

Yeah, a Batman Beyond continuation would actually be pretty sweet.

And if that's true about 162m, that's not bad. Not bad at all...

I think a Batman Beyond would be cool- though I think it's a little too soon. Batman Beyond takes place in the distant future, so it may work better as the series after JGL Batman/Robin/Nightwing. But yeah, a Batman Beyond movie would be cool. Since it takes place in the future, you could include more sci-fi themed villains like Mr. Freeze, and maybe even Clayface- though that might muck up Nolan's universe if done incorrectly.

Well, I guess it's not a spoiler. Just being considerate in case someone doesn't want to know a single thing or even a hint about the ending.

I think a reboot would be pretty bad, especially after Nolan's batman has been near perfect. Who could be the next batman and bring the same depth and intensity to the character? Who would direct? Would this be separate from Nolan's interpretation, his "realistic" series? To many questions. I think we should just let the series rest in peace with the fitting conclusion that was The Dark Knight Rises. Maybe in 15-20 years I'd want to see a sequel, though seeing as how it's such a moneymaker it's highly doubtful.

Boxofficemojo reports $249 million worldwide, ~$161 million domestic. It's a good thing they didn't release the reports over the weekend...

    Poor souls lost :/

The Dark Knight Rises opened to $160.8m in the US this past weekend, coming in third for best opening weekend film of all time and first for 2D-only films. Very respectable, especially under the given circumstances. $75.7m on Friday with $30.6m from midnight sales.

How about the real measure of whether a movie is popular: the number of tickets sold. I'd like to see comparisons with the Avengers on that front, the problem is that the Avengers has the extra price of 3D going for it.

Yeah, 3D. The good ol' money gimmick for movie-goers...
